pink friday: kappo – the pink stuff toy

For this week’s Pink Friday (sorry for the late entry – this mum was not able to wake up in the wee hours of the morning as the little man decided to stay up until almost midnight last night) here is my sister’s (I don’t own much stuff toy, much less pink ones) pink stuff toy, Kappo (says so in her chest). This is a present for sissie from one of her friends who recently went home from Dubai. My son instantly fell in love with Kappo + plays with her a lot. But, of late + with his recent fascination with balls + the game of soccer (he tends to think every thing is fit for a soccerball – empty distilled water gallons, pillows + blankies!), he makes Kappo a one fine, pink socer ball, much to her dislike!

i am proudly committed to earth hour

I am happy to announce that I am:

In my personal mission to do whatever little way i can for the environment, I will be participating in this year’s Earth Hour + I hope you do too.

Mark your calendars, ladies, at 8.30PM, Saturday 26th of March 2011, let us all join hands + switch our lights off for Earth Hour. Meanwhile, show your support by spreading the news, wearing the banners + the badges on your blogs + actually participating on the day of the event. Go to Earth Hour site for details and more info. This is one worthy cause each of us ought to participate, anyway, Earth is the only one we’ve got + we ought to do whatever we can to protect + love it.

So see you all on the 26th as we turn the lights off for Mommy Earth!

of turning green + being carbon neutral

I remember when I was just starting to explore blogging + all the wonderful things +  possibilities it represented, i stumble upon this lovely green badge whilst wandering about a fellow mommy’s rants + ramblings on everyday life…
A struggling green mama, I was fascinated by the idea of making blogging an instrument of planting a tree in your honor in a forest in some other part of the planet! Cool, right? And all you have to do is blog about it? Easy peasy! If every blogger in every corner of the earth participates, soon enough we will have a gazillion saplings planted in a forest that will eventually grow to become trees in a few years. It was sort of like living an anonymous legacy to our children + to the world while helping save forests + mother nature. So how do we participate?

Just a few easy steps to make it green:

  1. Write a blog post about the initiative + insert your favourite button
  2. E-mail the link to your post to CO2-neutral@kaufda.de
  3. We plant a tree for your blog in Plumas’!

Plumas is a National Forest supported by the Arbor Day Foundation, found in Northern California, hopefully more people will participate so they can reach a Philippine forest one day!

So what are you waiting for? Turn green + start by making your blog carbon neutral, now!

this is also my very first entry to Green Living Monday Meme
