Pregnancy is probably the best gift I have ever received, I gave birth after my 30th birthday after all, + it has changed my life in so many ways than I can ever imagine + it never fails to give me the good amount of love, affection, coupled with amazement + wonder + a good dash of frustration + madness, too, just to keep everything in a healthy balance. Honestly, I feel like I have never known how life should be until I became a mother 2 days after I turned 30!
Back then I was having doubts of whether I will get pregnant, at all. Although it was never really planned, it still came as quite a pleasant surprise + I never imagined it could be as simple as that! Unfortunately, not all women who would like to get pregnant experienced the same thing. Some would try + try for years only to fail. I have a friend who’s been married for more than 3 years + has never born a child up until this day. She has consulted with her OB-Gyne, though, + was told that both her + her husband are in great shape to procreate, they just needed to find time to do it + find ways to reduce stress in their lives. I am praying that my friend will get pregnant very soon 🙂
Not all women are as lucky. Some have difficulties getting pregnant due to a number of reasons + one of which is infertility. It was a good thing, though, that thanks to technological advancements in medicine, these women can now seek alternative means to get pregnant + realize their dreams of becoming mothers. One of which is in vitro fertilization, developed by the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine winner, Dr. Robert G. Edwards, the process of having egg cells fertilized by sperm outside of the body, in the hopes of having a successful pregnancy. Clinics offering IVF services have now mushroomed everywhere. One of which is the Sta. Monica Fertility Clinic in California. Check out their site if you want to know more about this advance technology or if you want them to help you in having the child you have always dreamed of. For in-depth knowledge, you can even request for information though their website. Apart from IVF, they also offer other services including: Gender Selection + Genetic Testing, Egg Donation + Frozen Donor Egg Bank.
IVF has also reached the Philippine soil + some of the top hospitals are now offering this service, too, including: St. Luke’s Medical Center, Manila Doctors Hospital + Asian Hospital + Medical Center.
Some would look down their noses at IVF, saying this is but another story of man-playing-God, I cannot really say much about the issue but I feel strongly for women who would love to get pregnant. It was, after all, the ultimate dream for any woman to give birth + become a mother. + if they can realize it by resorting to alternative means, will that be so bad?
What are your thoughts?

I’m just thankful that I had the natural way of getting pregnant. I cannot imagine how difficult it is for couples who wanted to have a baby but is having difficulties conceiving one.
i agree with you, sis, that is why I think a lot of couples having difficulties getting pregnant really considered IVF a god-send.
TY dito, we are planning to have one soon and magandang tip ito for us 🙂 Thanks Vix
This is so scientific for me. Thanks for the informative post.
ohhhh!
i remember IVF in the teleserye entitled BUDOY…
this is very helpful to couples who are having a difficult time producing at least one baby.
yup, budoy is a product of ivf, indeed! many thanks to modern day technology, right, even those who are having a hard time conceiving will soon be given the gift of parenting…
😉 i might have my first baby after my 30th too 😉 😉
claim it, mommy Gagay! 😀
Hello Mommy! I’m actually scared about giving birth. Now, I know that IVF can cost a lot. But if given the chance to bare a child through natural means, then it would be such a great blessing (physically, mentally and financially).
don’t worry, am sure you will be ready to give birth when your time comes! 🙂
I know a couple who underwent ivf and lost the baby and thank goodness the second one is a success…
good for them! i can only begin to imagine the grief of losing a baby….:(
I hope I get pregnant in a natural way too in the future. But if ever I can’t, I’d be happy to resort to alternative means to get pregnant. Provided of course that I (and my husband-to-be) can afford it.. 🙂
exactly, since these procedures do cost a lot of money! let us root for all-natural, then! 🙂
Very expensive to have one but a good alternative if you can’t have it the natural way..
true, mommy! it is a blessing to do it the natural way…mine is half-natural, since I have to deliver Jared through C-section 🙂
I also have a friend who did ivf 3 times 🙁 unsuccessfully…she’s 40 now and it really is hard for her to conceive so I really feel sad for them…she really wanted to have a child…sayang!
aw, so sad. i think they have another procedure for women in their 40’s. hopefully your friend will still find some ways to become a mum soon…
Just like Gene, I am glad that I had the natural way of getting pregnant ang gastos kasi nito
me too I thank God to get pregnant naturally I will stop whining about how hard my life is for I am bless with a lot
i just wish those couples who want a child badly can have one and those who don’t deserve one, don’t. kainis lang kasi di nmn nabibigayn ng magandang future ang mga bata.
