There is nothing like waking up with the right attitude to make your day. Here is something I stumbled upon on Facebook while I was busy browsing the other day. According to this here are the first thing successful people do in the morning.
- Tackle the hardest problem on your plate. ~ Mark Twain
- Visualize how you will make your day. ~ Tony Robbins
- I do it {work out} just to clear my head and relieve me of my stress. ~ Barack Obama
- Don’t check your email and do real work. ~ David Karp
- If today were the last day of my life, would I want do do what I am about to do today? ~ Steve Jobs
Although it was rather difficult to heed point number 4 since most of my work and earning opportunities come through my email, it really is quite liberating to not open your email when you wake up in the morning. That way you can focus on more important things like your children and family or your morning meditation and morning routine for example. As for me, I try to do this once every week by giving myself a no-internet day every Sunday. It is a welcome break and I get to do more things like playing with my little man, cleaning up our clutter at home or noticing the birds chirping on the window very early in the morning.
In the same manner, we can never really go wrong if we follow Steve Jobs’ advice, examining our schedule for the day on a daily basis and allowing ourselves to focus only on what is essential and most important to us, will definitely make our lives better and less stressful.
I hope you are having an equally lovely Thursday. We shall be cooped up at home as I will be starting with yet another work-from-home opportunity while the little man enjoys another relaxing day. 🙂
