our Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival tickets

It felt like the first weekend of September is an extension of our birthdays from the previous week. Aside from our Art In Island adventure with Jolly Cow on Saturday, we are capping the week with Mickey Mouse and his gang through Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival held at the newly-renovated KIA Theatre {formerly the New Frontier Theatre} at the Araneta Center. Disney Live!, the very first show to run at the re-opened theatre was slated only until that Sunday, and we were lucky to be among those who got to watch it. The little man was a huge Mickey Mouse fan when he was younger and I know for sure that he is going to enjoy this show as much as he enjoyed watching Disney On Ice a few years back {you can read all about our experience here.}

Our tickets was for the 2pm show and we arrived at the Araneta Center an hour earlier. The KIA Theater is just right in front of Gateway Mall so it was very easy to find. People are already lining up at the entrance by this time, with lots of little girls and boys in Disney costumes who simply cannot wait to get in and see their favorite characters come to life.

at the newly-renovated KIA Theatre

After grabbing a quick late lunch, we went back to KIA to line up. By this time, most of the people were already inside the theatre eager for the show to start. The Mickey Mouse symbol by the stage is enough to get everyone all excited. . The newly-renovated theatre has an approximately 2,400 seating capacity and we were seated at the second row of the Balcony by the aisle.

Mickey Mouse + the gang is here!

Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival started on the dot and everyone was excited to see Mickey, his partner Minnie, Goofy, and Donald. I was just wondering why Daisy was not around and the little man also noted the absence. Mickey and his gang opened the show dancing to a rockin’ upbeat tune to get the party started.

After a lively performance by the gang, the Genie of the lamp showed up followed, of course, by one of my beloved characters, Aladdin and Princess Jasmine. The beautiful pair danced to the tune of probably one of the most unforgettable Disney tunes ever made ~ A Whole New World.

Ariel’s sisters + Sebastian dancing to “All The Single Ladies”

By the time Aladdin and Jasmine left the stage, it was time for the crab, Sebastian to be introduced immediately followed by a lively dance number with Ariel’s sisters to the tune of Beyonce’s All The Single Ladies. Of course, it was only a matter of time until Ariel appeared, this time asking the villain Ursula for a pair of feet in exchange for her voice. This enabled Ariel to go up to land to find her prince, Eric, and she did!

Toy Story’s Woody with Bullseye and the toy soldiers

Then it was time for the little man’s favorite part of the show, when Mickey and his friends introduced cowboy Woody and his gang! This was missing the last time we watched Disney Live and I was really glad Jared finally had the chance to see his favorite Toy Story characters come to live. Woody dazzled the audience with his awesome rope tricks together with his friends Jessy, Bullseye, Buzz Lightyear and the toy soldier, who also had a lovely dance number.

We sure were having fun that we never noticed one-and-a-half hours quickly went and it was time for us to say goodbye to Mickey and all the wonderful Disney characters present that day. All of them danced to a final song-and-dance number until shimmering confetti went down and the show was over.

Thank you Mommy Bloggers Philippines and Araneta Center for such a wonderful experience. No one is really too old for Mickey Mouse and Disney. 😀  By the way, don’t feel too bad if you were not able to catch Disney Live! with the little ones as the annual Disney On Ice is slated to come back this December with Elsa and Ana of Frozen. Stay tuned for more details. You can also visit ticketnet.com.ph for more information.

    1. that’s too bad sis. We were also originally scheduled at a different day, it was a good thing our Sundays are usually reserved for resting at home and we do not have anything scheduled for that day. I hope you can check out KIA Theatre very soon!
