Cyber Monday is almost here. That means it’ll soon be the best time of the year for online shopping. Why deal with the chaos of Black Friday when you can do all your shopping at home? You can get all of your Christmas shopping out of the way and maybe get yourself a gift too while you’re at it. However, there are still a few things you need to watch out for when looking for great Cyber Monday online deals. Some deals might not be as good as they seem, while others can be made even better. With that in mind, here are our top five Cyber Monday shopping tips.

Do Your Research

The most important thing to do in order to get great Cyber Monday deals is to prepare ahead of time. You need to be aware of what items you want and compare prices on different sites. Bookmarking these sites ahead of time can also help you save time when the day arrives. It’s also a good idea to make a list of everything you want and where you plan to buy it. This can help you stay organised. You should make all these preparations at least a week in advance. Additionally, you can also search for Target promo code and similar discount codes to help you save money while enjoying your retail therapy.

Sign Up for Mailing Lists

One of the best ways to keep track of what deals a store is offering is to subscribe to their email list. Stores will typically send updates several weeks in advance to keep their subscribers up to date. Signing up for their Facebook and Twitter is another great way to stay informed. This way, you’ll know what sales are happening long before the date of Cyber Monday.

Watch Out for Extra Fees

Keep in mind that the price you see on your favourite gift might not be the final price you end up paying. You might have to pay a hefty shipping and handling charge, along with taxes. These extra costs can easily add up by the time you click the buy button. Prepare ahead of time to see what other fees you might have to pay. That great deal you see might not be as great as you think it is.

Be Aware of Doorbusters

Even though you’ll be shopping online, you still need to remember that some supplies might be limited. With that in mind, sleeping in might not be a good idea. You may still need to get online early as if you were shopping in a physical store. Again, you need to research ahead of time to see what time you need to be online to get what you want. Also, keep in mind that some sites will allow you to preload your shopping cart the day before Cyber Monday. This can save you some time when you’re checking out although not all sites will let you do this.

Use Gift Cards to Save

Using gift cards wisely can be a great way to make a good deal even better. One of the best things you can do to save a lot of money during Cyber Monday is stacking gift cards. This is when you use multiple gift cards on the same item.

Mum’s Two Cents

Those shining “Sale” signs can get you all excited and distracted. Apart from the useful tips mentioned above, it all pays to make a shopping list beforehand so you would know what exact items to look and shop for. Without a list, you might end up buying something you did not plan to buy in the first place. There is also a great possibility to go overboard in buying dirt cheap items and to over-budget. Over the weekend, work on your list and make sure to stick to it come Cyber Monday. Okay, you can probably add a few items not found in your list as a reward for all your efforts!

  1. Your tips are great as many people will get distracted by the “sale” sign and don’t really do any research. I did purchase a new camera for Black Friday but I did it after following it for quite some time now, knowing the price it would normally sale for. I was able to buy it on Black Friday from Amazon with a 500£ discount, which made it a bargain. I love shopping from Amazon as there are never any hidden fees.
