A Tribute To Strong Mums On Mother’s Day

Indeed, mums are the greatest! No one else epitomizes strength and resilience best than a mother. She can do everything and anything for her children ~ earn a living, do household chores, look after the children, whilst keeping the home spic-and-span and making sure there’s food on the table. Indeed, a mum works tirelessly so she can do these tasks, and more. Her role does not end with the seemingly-endless tasks around the home. Apart from being the designated 24/7 childminder, she is also a playmate, a best friend, a movie buddy, a first teacher or a tutor, a confidante, a storyteller, and a open arms always ready to comfort a child in despair. In my case, she was also my staunchest supporter, the first to believe even when I doubt myself, and the best cook ever!

I am blessed with a Mama who did all that and more. Up to this day, it baffles me how she managed to care for all 5 of us whilst taking care of the house and performing other duties. It fills my heart with undying gratitude to have the privilege of being born to a mother who loves her children unconditionally, who will bear all things ~ financial woes and other problems, and later on her sickness ~ whilst sheltering her children from the harsh realities of the real world. She taught us unwavering faith in the Creator and to always choose kindness no matter what. She gives of herself tirelessly, not only to her family, but also to the people in the community. Long after she passed on after falling ill, we will always remember her caring and nurturing ways, her generosity will remain in the people she was able to help in her days, and her love will stay with us for as long as we live and beyond.

  1. Nanays are the best. No matter how many time you disagree on things she still has your back when everything falls apart. I’m sorry that your mom has passed on. Now you have an angel watching over you and your family.

  2. Mother’s day is every day. Because you never stop being a mother for even one moment,so it should not be restricted for celebration to one day. Every day, every moment, you guys are doing great….. The greatest power behind all the kids’ achievements!

    1. I agree with you! I think motherhood is the only 24/7 job that offers no off days or retirement. Once a mother, you never stop being one even when the children grew up to be adults. Indeed, the greatest power behind their children, next to God, of course 🙂

  3. This made me remember and miss my mother. I may not be that close with my mother, since I didn’t grow up in my real family, but there are times that I really wanted to see and hug her. Her voice made my day complete whenever I get to hear just her voice, the comfort that her voice gives is beyond compare. I can’t wait to see my mother again soon. Thank you so much for sharing this. Happy Mothers Day!

    1. I thought that was sad to not grow up with your real family 🙁 I hope you will have plenty of time to catch up with your mother, especially on special occasions

Thank you, and Happy Mother’s day to your mum, too!

  4. Moms are always strong since they endure nine months of carrying a child in their womb; let alone to those who carry twins or more. Even if they are imperfect just like their children, they always shine bright like a star to their children. To me, I always see them as superheroines that could almost do anything if they set their mind to it.

And, quite frankly, that ad is very subtle. ?

  5. I believe that mothers are really strong women. Imagine the many roles that moms take on on top of being a mother. Many also take on other jobs aside from taking care of their children. You are blessed to have one strong mom!

  6. Happy Mother’s Day! Moms are always there for us, through thick and thin. My father already left us last year, and I thought that my mom and I would end up quarelling everyday (that’s what we usually did before my father died), but surprisingly, we grew closer and made a bond. We barely fight nowadays :)) There’s just no beating a mother’s love.

    1. Thank you!

Indeed! I am delighted to know that you and your mum have grown closer after your father passed on. I am sure he is happily looking down on you both from heaven. Happy Mother’s Day to your mum!

  7. The official Mother’s day is over but like they said, Mother’s day is Everyday so I would like to greet you and your mom a happy mothers day and I salute all the hardships and all the efforts every mom is giving to their kids unconditionally. She might be with God already but I’m sure she still watching you guys from heaven
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful tribute to your mom

  8. This is such a nice tribute to your mom and I am sure when she reads it she will be touched to tears. You do love your mom so much and you can see it through the lines you write. It’s nice to remember how much mothers do for us and not only remember to celebrate them on Mother’s Day.
