Money Matters: Three Times A Small Decision Rewrote History + Changed the World

As they say, humanity is a product of an infinitely unfolding number of decisions, what single decision of yours changed your life?

Ever wondered what sparked some of the most momentous events in history? Most of the time, it’s conflict. But sometimes, they’re consequences of decisions made hastily, strategically, or emotionally. From an Indian lawyer going overseas to work, an African American seamstress commuting home, to an aspiring German aspiring artist and a very efficient devout monk, below are some people who made life defining, history-making decisions that changed the world forever.

When no one wanted to buy into the idea of “Google”

Money Matter, announcement, money talks, budget and finance, press release

Google’s success originated from one simple idea of Larry Page and Sergey Brin in the late 1990s. They realized that the sprawling, chaotic mess of content and material existing in the World Wide Web could be “optimized” by ranking search results by how often a content was cited similar to how an excellent research paper is cited by different papers. Their first version of the “search engine” was so successful the graduate students tried to sell the idea for $1 M. Unfortunately (or fortunately for the world!), there were no takers. So, they decided to put up the business themselves and well, you can Google the rest!

What it led to: The internet! Need we say more?

Benefit for you: We consume information as easy and as regularly as we drink water!

Gadgets + Technology: V11 ~ A Fusion of Art + Technology

gadgets + technology, announcement, press release, technology, techie stuff
Vivo V11 Starry Night

Gone are the days of bulky and monochromatic mobile phones. Compact and sleek phones are now considered the norm, thanks to smartphone brands that design products with the consumers’ need in mind. Aside from a smartphone’s key functions, its appearance attracts customers since they are more mindful of trends and it’s also an avenue to fully express their artistic preferences. Thus, Vivo fused art and technology together in their latest flagship phone through their two trendsetting fusion color selections.

Starry Night

Deep in the night, billions of stars cast luminous, mystifying lights across the sky. This is where V11 drew the inspiration for their new trend-setting fusion color ~ Starry Night. The mysterious black and striking blue blend together perfectly, invoking the far-flung corners of the universe and exuding premium quality and style. The color selection represents one’s hopes and dreams, an affirmation that anything is within reach. This design is reminiscent of Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh’s painting: the “Starry Night Over the Rhone”, as it integrates the night sky, the stars, and the glistening blue water. It conveys that the stars will always guide you home.

The mysterious black and striking blue of the Vivo V11’s Starry Night fusion color invoke the far-flung corners of the universe.

My nephew, Sean celebrated his 11th birthday earlier this month and he requested that we treat him to Wence’ Dessert Cafe. We’ve been wanting to try the place out but never got the chance to do it yet, so we set out to visit the place on Sunday afternoon.

It was a full house that afternoon and we were made to wait outside for awhile until a table is available. After several minutes, we were informed that a table for 6 has been vacated at the 2nd floor.

It is a very small place and since it was packed with diners that day, it was a relief to be upstairs where there are less people and noise. I wish they’d made the windows bigger, though, as the limited space upstairs is really claustrophobic!
