On Raising A Multiple Intelligent Child + A Twitter Giveaway

Most mums will agree that there is nothing we want more than for our children to achieve their maximum potentials, make the most of their life and go further than what we have achieved in life. That is why it is a must that we raise them by honing their Multiple Intelligence.

Multiple Intelligence is divided into 3 different parts:

  • Body Smart
  • People Smart
  • Brain Smart

Since the little man is a tiny baby I aimed for him to be a well-rounded person as I have always believed that this will give him opportunities and avenues to be more successful later on in life. Since he was 2 he was already taking swimming lessons during summer. It is not only an enjoyable activity, but it also helped improve his asthma. I thought we were hitting 2 birds with one stone! Nag-enjoy na, healthy pa! It has been years since he last had an attack and little did I know that I started making him Body Smart by enrolling him to swimming class and allowing him to have a very ideal form of exercise.

A Pleasant Surprise At The Little One’s School

I did get a very pleasant surprise when we went to the little man’s school earlier today to get his report card. He was not able to go to school yesterday as he was feeling a little bit off, so I was really delighted to find out that he was one of the 2 students who managed to get into the top list of their class for this grading period.

It looks like we are doing something right, and I cannot be more proud of the little one for all the efforts he’s put into learning his lessons, doing his homework promptly, and studying for his exams. Two thumbs up for the little guy who now volunteers to do his homework, it is a far cry from the reluctant preschooler who makes up a gazillion of excuses just so he can put off doing his assignments for much later! 🙂

My main concern for the little one’s schooling is for him to learn and enjoy while doing it. I would love for him to have the initiative and the passion and hunger to learn more. I sure think he is having a great time at school and the high marks and the top 2 rank is just icing on the cake. When I know that Jared is having a grand time at school, enjoying every bit of it, and actually learning, I am more than a happy mum! :-))

This is the last stretch of the little one’s academic year and we need to get ready for his final exams scheduled next month. I do hope he continues to perform well in school.

The Little One’s Second Quarter Grades Are In

That’s right! This mum can breathe freely again as the little man’s 2nd Quarter exam results just came in. I am glad that he did well in his exams and got good grades. I was just a bit wary that he was too fond of being ahead of the class to submit exams and exercise that he would sometimes get confused and end up writing wrong answers. I did talked to him about this and told him that the exams are not a race and that it is more important that he get every question right, instead of finishing ahead of his classmates. Hopefully, he’d remember this the next time he had an exercise or exam to finish in class.

Meanwhile, I am also relieved to see Jared’s report card and his 2nd Quarter grades. I am very happy to note that he did get very good marks! It is good to know that he is doing well in class and is learning in school, as what his teachers told me. More importantly, I am sure that the little one is enjoying his time in class, which in turn will make it much easier for him to learn about his lessons.

Looks like our reviewing did the trick, so did our daily habit of finishing his homework. For this next quarter, we shall be doing a lot more of reading at home, as well as practice writing worksheets. He’s  started reading 3-letter words and I cannot wait for him to harness this skill and start reading his books on his own! Writing is something he really struggles with, so we shall also be focusing on his writing skills.

How’s your little ones’ 2nd Quarter grades mums and what areas will you be working on this quarter? 🙂
