Children: Inclusive Education System

Children, education, children learning, learning

What is an inclusive education?

Inclusive education is all about educating children with special needs along with children without special needs. The aim of inclusive education is not to create any differentiation between general training and special education. In fact, they expect the schools to restore themselves and allow the special children in.

Now, people advocate that the children with special needs are welcomed into the school, and they create a set-up that respects them, nurtures them and empowers them in the long run. Therefore, if you have such a target group where you have children with diverse needs which is representative of a healthy population, then there is so much more than the school must gear up for.

It is important to remember that inclusion is not just being in there with the healthy children in a regular school. The children must not feel the idea of not belonging to that place. It is a massive responsibility that needs proper planning before starting it. Teaching works and instruction is essential. The training of teachers can help in making such projects successful.

Inclusive School System Requirements

The inclusive school requirements are very different from the normal one. The system needs to change each aspect of it to make it work. The two main elements that need immediate and utmost changes are:

  1. Concerning the inclusive school or college curriculum, you would require a lot of flexibility
  2. Regarding teaching methodologies and expertise on the part of the teachers, there is a need for proper training

What Does This New Ideology Trying To Promote?

Three main points are in focus of people who are trying to promote the inclusive education system. These are:

  1. It seeks to bring social cohesion
  2. It tries to create a more responsible and patient society
  3. It tries to undo the harm that is done to the people who are differently abled

Join The Philippine Homeschool Conference 2017: Educating For The World Of Tomorrow

I have always considered homeschooling my little man and I am not closing my doors in exploring this option in the near future. This is the reason why I support the Homeschool Association of the Philippine Islands {HAPI}’s Philippine Homeschool Conference 2017.

Here’s what you need to know about the Philippines Homeschool Conference 2017

The Philippines Homeschool Conference, the most anticipated gathering of homeschoolers in the Philippines, is an annual gathering full of information and inspiration for people who want to learn more about homeschooling, are just starting out, or want to improve their homeschooling experience. The conference ~ specifically by way of its Expo ~ is also a venue where homeschoolers {and even non-homeschoolers!} can look at and purchase materials, plus get to know more about services and programs that may aid them in their homeschooling.

The Philippines Homeschool Conference is a great venue for homeschooling mums to learn the ins and outs of homeschooling, challenges, and how to deal with them, as well as discover the technical aspects of homeschooling. It is also the perfect venue for first-time homeschoolers to learn more about the subject and decide how to apply this on their own journey.

The expo also a great opportunity for homeschooling mums to converge and swap homeschooling stories, as well as shop for homeschool materials, books, books, and more!

The PHC 2017: Homeschool to the Future

This year, HAPI, with Educating for Life as the Conference organizer, is setting up the PHC to be an event that will inspire and equip parents to “homeschool to the future.”

The world we live in has changed drastically over the past few years, everything is fast-paced and almost instant. these days. With the advent of the Internet Age, information is literally available with a press of a button. With these changes, the educational sphere has also changed a lot. Educators are beginning to realize that beyond rote memorization and spewing out of data, students today must learn what to do with the information that they have.

The more valuable skills to be learned are critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving – skills that homeschoolers can embrace and promote in their homes. Children are taught to learn how to learn – and love how to learn – as they make use of the technology and resources available to them.

This is the inspiration behind the theme of this year’s Philippine Homeschool Conference: “Homeschool to the Future: Educating for the World of Tomorrow.” As in previous years, the conference aims to encourage and equip homeschooling families in their journey through practical breakout sessions, the expo filled with educational materials, and by providing a venue where homeschoolers can meet and gather as a community.

The PHC 2017 will be held from 7 a.m. {start of registration} to 6PM on 07 October, 2017 at Treston International College in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig

Meet Richelle Ann: A Young Inquirer from APEC Schools

education, mum's thoughts, Philippines Today

Finally, there’s a school that offers a subject dedicated solely to teaching kids to become critical thinkers, values-driven inquirers, and effective problem solvers.Say hello to Ayala-led APEC Schools.

Aside from the important academic subjects usually taught in class, APEC Schools makes sure that its students know more than just compute, comprehend, and memorize important info and concepts relevant to mathematics, history, the sciences, and grammar.

Meet Richelle Ann. Through a scholarship, she currently enjoys the perks of an Ayala education. She attests to the effectiveness of their subjectaptly called Life Labs in honing one’s problem-solving skills. “Dito, tinuturuan kami kung paano magkaroon ng malalim na pagiisip…paano masolusyunan ang isang problema na para sayo parang napakahirap pero pag ginawa mo na pala, napakadali,” she explained.

Life Labs isa problem-based subject that provides students opportunities to examine real-life situations and issues and formulate their own solutions to address these pressing concerns. With Life Labs, students are also taught to use their research/probing skills as well as exercise their creativity to address issues such as road safety, financial, health, and media literacy among others.

Watch Ann and her schoolmate Ella as they further help appreciate Life Labs even more.

Mum’s two cents

Life Labs is something new to me, but in this day and age, I thought it is a must for every student. It is about time we re-think the old and beaten processes and procedures of local education and teach the children in class about concepts that actually matters and important life skills that are relevant today.
