Out + About In Art In Island With Jolly Cow

Warning: This is a picture-heavy post!

Traveling is something I absolutely enjoy doing with my family. Although out-of-town trips may be a bit tricky to pull off with the little one going to regular school now or due to limited budget, we do not really need to go that far to check out a place we have never been before and tick those destinations off our bucket list. This year, I am happy to note that we have been to a few new attractions for children, including Art In Island in Quezon City.

Art In Island is an art museum located at 175 15th Ave., Brgy. Socorro, Cubao, Quezon City. It is open from Tuesdays – Sundays at 9.30am-9.30pm. Admission fee is at Php500 for adults and Php 400 for students while children below 3 feet can enter for free. As of writing, it is closed for renovation, but patrons can check out their holiday-themed 3D painting exhibit at SM Megamall.

Jolly Cow’s Mom + Kid’s Day Out

Jolly Cow invited select mum bloggers and kids to join them for their Mom and Kids Day Out event and the first stop of our adventure is Art In Island near Cubao Expo. We have not been there before so I was more than happy to go and tag the little man along.

Learning Made Fun + Interactive At Museo Pambata

Visiting museums is one of the things that I absolutely enjoy doing with the little man. Not only that there is so much to be learned from each nook and cranny, but there are also lots of new and interesting stuff to see for the little one’s entertainment and amazement. This is the reason why I readily said yes when we were invited to join the Museo Pambata Blogger’s Day held not too long ago. I have been meaning to bring my little trooper there but we did not get the opportunity to do so.

Of course, Jared was way too excited to explore that he was off as soon as we were done with registration.

Jared vs. the telephone

The first exhibit he checked out was Kalikasan as it was the nearest to the entrance. After a bit of exploring the nearby exhibits, guests were requested to gather at the Old Manila exhibit for a short program. The people from Museo Pambata prepared story telling activities for the kiddos, as well as riveting song and dance number. My little explorer was not too keen on the program as he cannot wait to explore the rest of the museum. He was also very smitten with an old telephone he found in the room.

After the short program, everyone was treated to a Filipino-style snack. The buffet table was teeming with well-loved Filipino specialties, including pancit bihon and pandesal. To end our lovely meal, we were all enjoyed Carmen’s Best soft served ice cream.

Our #PPSGxNatGeo Kids M.I Expedition Mall Tour Experience

Last Sunday, the little man and I went to Trinoma to participate at the Progress Pre-School Gold and National Geographic Channel’s Kids M.I. Expedition. We went there early to avoid the long queue and so the little man can try out the activities as soon as he can. He was reluctant at first, but he had such an amazing time completing the activities while enhancing his #MultipleIntelligence.

We needed to register before we were allowed to enter the activity area. I also signed a waiver. After registration, we were given our Kids M.I. Expedition Pass, giving the little man access to 3 different activities enhancing his Body Smart, People Smart, and Brain Smart.

playing dominoes for the first time

While waiting for their turn, the children can play a number of educational games to pass the time. Jared excitedly proceeded to one of the tables and immediately played with dominoes.

Mums can also take a short quiz to determine their children’s domineering smart. It turns out, my little ball of unbound energy is Body Smart and I guess I am not surprised. I also found out that children who are Body Smart excel in sports, as well as in motor skills. It is safe to say then that I just might have an athlete in the making.
