When you hear the term Filipino cuisine, a few staples come to mind. Adobo, either chicken or pork, is surely on top of the list. Then maybe you think of a tangy, steaming bowl of sinigang. A pulutan favorite, sisig, is also right up there. And for dessert, you can’t forget halo-halo, that glorious hodgepodge of macapuno, nata de coco, beans, ube chunks, topped with creamy leche flan.

Crisostomo’s Kare-kare

Mum Eats: Yummy + Healthy Organic Treats At Earth Kitchen {BGC}

Note: This post was first published on my foodie blog, Mum Eats, on 05 February, 2017.  :plate:

I was in BGC on Chinese New Year to attend Mommy Mundo’s Mindful Mom Re-Treat. The workshop was held at Earth Kitchen. It is a lovely cozy place for lunch dates or afternoon coffee with family and friends. It sure was a wise decision to spend my Saturday morning with them as I absolutely enjoyed it and learned a lot from it. I will share more about the re-treat on my mum blog.

Apart from the workshop, I also enjoyed the organic treats Earth Kitchen served us that day. It was a light yet fulling meal, full of organic and natural goodness. I enjoyed the Fish and Roasted Sesame {Php240}, which looks like a deconstructed soft taco dish. It has loro fish, salad greens, cucumber, seaweed and topped with roasted sesame dressing. Because I am a pasta lover, I guess it is a given that I will enjoy their Ragu alla Bolognese {Php280}. It is made of handmade fettuccine, organic beef, organic tomato sauce, and a delicious mix of herbs including tarragon, parsley, and basil. It was also a delight to find out that they made everything from scratch, including the tacos and their assortment of pastas. They also source most of their ingredients from organic local farmers, so eating in this place will not only be a delight for your tummy but for your conscience, too! ^_^

My Earth Kitchen experience was absolutely amazing that I am now craving for their hearty meals again. I sure hope I can go back there with my boys one of these days. If you are a fan of delicious food, as well as organic and healthy treats, make sure to give Earth Kitchen a try.

Mum Eats: It’s Tea Time!

Note: This article was first published on my foodie blog, mum-eats.com, on 17 December, 2016.  :plate:

I am a self-confessed coffeeholic. My day never starts {and my parts never function properly} until I got my first cup of the day. When I get bored, or run out of ideas to write, or get lazy to eat a proper meal, I go fix me another cup and before I knew it, I have downed 3-4 cups before my day ends. And even I get worried. Even when drinking coffee is truly enjoyable and it comes handy whenever I have headaches, over-consumption of caffeine has its downside and I must really do something about it.
