Be Part of The Baby & Family Expo Philippines 2013

Here is one Expo mums wouldn’t want to miss. This event is a gathering of many trusted and interesting names in different industries that share the same passion for babies and families. If you do not have plans for the weekend yet, you might as well check out the Baby & Family Expo Philippines 2013 happening this weekend, 06-08 December at the SMX Convention Center, in Mall Of Asia. The biggest family event of the year Baby & Family Expo Philippines 2013 presents Family Fashion Weekend featuring apparels from country’s finest brands – Cotton On Kids, Petit Bateau, Mothercare Philippines and F&X Philippines, happening on Saturday December 07, at Hall 1, SMX Convention Center Manila, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.

This parent and child tandem fashion show will feature the weekly finalists of the #BibongBaby contest, an online photo and video contest of the Baby & Family Expo 2013. The collection will showcase holiday children’s wear in a tropical country. From blue to orange hues, the outfits will depict the expo’s lively theme.

Cotton On Kids collection will bring the spirit, edginess and fashionability of its parent brand, Cotton On, world renowned Australian brand, Cotton On, which opened stores in the Philippines a year ago. Its range of children’s apparel and accessories offers the latest styles that allow even the littlest personalities to shine through.

Another runaway collection will be all the way from France. Petit Bateau will stage fashionable yet comfortable casual wardrobe for kids. The French label began as an innovator in kid’s underwear in 1893 and has been committed to bringing comfort, freedom of movement, and the softest fabrics to kids, and even to adults.

Aside from baby essentials like feeding, bathing, travel equipment and toys, Mothercare Philippines has a collection of fabulous children’s clothing, which will be featured at the fashion show. For expectant mothers, they also have maternity clothing to make they stay fashionable.

F&X Philippines will offer not just stylish children’s wear but also comfortable and versatile outfits. The collection emanates coolness and fun, giving the kids confidence and bringing out one’s individuality.

The Family Fashion Weekend is part of the three-day fun-filled event from December 06-08, 2013 organized by MediaCom Solutions Inc. and co-presented by Cordlife Philippines, the leading cord blood and tissue banking service provider in the country. The Baby & Family Expo Philippines dubbed as “Welcoming Life, Love and Care”, is dedicated to nurture family development and child care. It covers the stages of family growth from pregnancy, maternity, newborns, toddlers and early childhood. The event will also feature educational talks and seminars, exciting activities like Family Olympics and Family Fashion Weekend and exclusive discounts from over 200 exhibitors.

The family expo will also feature inspirational talks by celebrity parents like Azkals coach Michael Weiss as he talks about ‘Coaching the Azkals and Coaching Your Kids’, host, author and Mercato founder RJ Ledesma will also share tips on Daddy 101. On The Money host and The Master’s Academy president, Edric Mendoza will also talk about Homeschooling while dancing diva Regine Tolentino and Bb. Pilipinas- Universe title holder and actress Nina Ricci Alagao-Flores will share their memorable experiences in Parenting 101. MTRCB Chairman Atty. Eugenio Villareal and actress, host and co-producer of MOMents and MTRCB Board Member Gladys Reyes- Sommereux will tackle about ‘Child Friendly Content and Parental Guidance on Responsible Media Consumption.’ Moonstar88 vocalist, Acel van Ommen and Starstruck avenger Jade Lopez will also give a talk on Right Start’s advocacy.

What To Do This Long Weekend

It is another long weekend here in our part of the globe as the November 1st holiday fell on a Friday and I am sure a lot of families are so excited to plan their activities for the 3-day weekend. Apart from paying respects to our dearly departed, am sure everyone is just about ecstatic to go somewhere or do something fun with the entire family! Personally, every weekend in our household is just another weekend, considering this mum never goes to work, but apart from going to the memorial to visit my parents’ grave, I’d think of something fun and enjoyable for me and my little man to do. :heart:

Here are a few things you might want to do with your family, too:

Go On A Quick Getaway ~ especially for families with members that keep a regular 9-5 job, the long weekend is the most opportune time to go on a quick, yet much needed, getaway. Hit the nearest beach or go to a new destination you have not been before. Make the most of the holiday by catching up with the other members of the family, or with friends, in case, you plan to go with them.

Check out Toy Kingdom’s Toy Warehouse Sale Year 7 ~ this will be the perfect time to jump-start your Christmas shopping for presents for your kiddos or your godsons and goddaughters. Loads of branded toys will be on sale for up to 70% off, can you imagine that? If I live somewhere near, I will make sure to check this toy sale out. I will bet my hands, I will find a lot of nice toys that my little man will love!
Go Out For A Walk ~ the nice sunny weekend weather is also the best time to go out to get some fresh air, especially if you have been cooped up at home for days on end due to a sick little man or the bad weather. Explore a bit of your city by going on a walk with your children and your family. I am sure you will find something new and interesting. Who knows you might even stumble upon a very cool looking street furniture, where you can take a lovely family picture or a selfie! 😀
Work On A Holiday ~ now this might be quite a bummer for some, but there are those who were a tad busy during regular days that they can only catch up on work during the long weekend. This mum is a perfect example, as I shall be busy tinkering on my blogs, beating up online deadlines and getting my blogs updated.
Have A Movie Marathon At Home ~ we get to have a movie marathon regularly, but the Halloween weekend seems to be great in catching up on those Halloween-related or horror films, if you are a sucker for those. I’ve just sampled the animation, Hotel Transylvania, the other day with my boys + I loved it!
Sleep, Sleep, Sleep ~ yes, the long weekend is also most ideal to catch up on those zzzzz and get as much rest as you like. After all, you needed all the rest and sleep you can get, to keep you up and running again when the next week starts. So off to La la land you go! I’ll make sure we get a good dose of that, too.

A Fun + Educational Road Trip With Mom & Me Fun Circuit

The Mom & Me Fun Circuit had all the elements of a fun and educational Saturday bonding for mums and their kiddos: a music lesson in Rizal Park, an art class in Shaw, and a trip to a museum in the Fort. My little man was so excited when we took the trip to the meeting place at SM Megamall and cannot wait to ride the fun bus that will take us to our 3 different destinations for the afternoon. He also enjoyed watching his favorite film, Rise of the Guardians, and his new fave, Meet the Robinsons, while on board.

1st Stop: Mabuhay Restop

It was our first time at Mabuhay Restop and the eco drumming workshop hosted by Fred De Mesa and Job Vesh is something even I have never experienced before. They taught the children and the mums how to make good music using recycled mineral bottle gallons and the little ones really enjoyed creating beautiful beats with their very interesting musical instruments. They also showed us several nice-looking instruments that came from different parts of the country, as well as from abroad like the didjeredoo, which is a native instrument from Australia.

Excited at the prospect of seeing a lot of children in one place, my little man was being his ever-rowdy self and found a little girl playmate to whom he showed and played with his Transformers toys which he stashed on his backpack earlier before we leave.

Mabuhay Restop is a lovely place to visit, I just hope we had more time to explore around and probably sample the treats they are serving.

Second Stop: KidzArt

After our music lesson, we then traveled back to Mandaluyong for an art class at KidzArt, which is located in 500 Zentrum in Shaw Boulevard.

Upon entering, Jared was looking for his playschool teacher probably thinking we are going there since I told him earlier that we are going to school. He also fussed a bit about the apron but agreed to put on the orange one after awhile. Too bad I was not able to take some snaps.

A fizzing ball of energy, my little one managed to knock out a small bottle filled with water and enjoyed making a racket by dropping multiple paperclips onto the water. But apart from that, I was never more proud when he diligently finished creating his DIY photo frame, enjoying watercolor painting and finished painting his clouds and grass. He also painted a cutout ball and a car, and with a little help from teacher and mum, pasted them onto his frame. I cannot wait to put up his new lovely frame at home!

Before we leave this venue, we also had a little raffle, where I won a pack of Marvel heroes-designed Bite Block Natural Citronella patches which Jared cannot wait to use and a sample pack of Tiny Buds Baby Bottle and Utensil Wash, and special awards to little participants were also doled out.

Third Stop: The Mind Museum

I have always wanted to bring the little man to this place, so it is the primary reason why I really wanted to attend this event. Originally, we are to watch and enjoy a bubble show at the Science-in-the-Park section of the museum, but unfortunately, we are running rather late that day, what with the heavy Saturday afternoon traffic, and arrived to Bonifacio Global City after sunset. Instead, we just visited the museum and explored their numerous exhibits and displays, as well as watched an educational scientific show in one of their 3D cinemas. Jared managed to keep the 3D shades on for the longest time ever! 😀
