What:  21st National Retail Conference + Stores Asia Expo 2012

Where: SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City

When: August 9-10, 2012

Agenda:  “Taking Customer Experience To New Heights”

In a nutshell:

New ways + means to improve customer experience is the main focus of this year’s National Retail Conference. It also puts retailing in the Philippines front + center by declaring, “Shopping. It is more fun in the Philippines.”

Slated as the country’s biggest retail industry event, the 21st NRCE is organized by the Philippine Retailers Association {PRA} + supported by  SM Department Stores, PLDT Alpha Enterprise, Robinsons Malls and HP Philippines, Araneta Center, Ayala Malls and Meralco + will be attended by 700 retail owners, CEOs, suppliers, + top-level executives from all over the country.

Included in the list of speakers are Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez, who will speak about the “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” campaign + its direct relation to the growth of retail industry, + the Emmy award-winning Tyra Banks Show producer, who will share the latest developments in branding + marketing, as well as potential global opportunities for Filipino brands. On the other hand, the conference keynote message will be delivered by no less than Mr. William Schultz, President + CEO of Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines Inc. which is celebrating its “100 Years of  Happiness.”

Giving emphasis to the value of impeccable customer service to the overall shopping experience, the conference gathers the people behind companies with excellent track records on customer satisfaction. Topics that will be discussed include the influx of international brands in the Philippines, licensing opportunities for retailers, a retailer’s role in advocating a sustainable lifestyle, + “The New Turks of Retailing.” You can also check out the complete Conference Program for more details.

I for one would love to check out the morning panel discussion on digital marketing + online commerce. I am sure I will gain a lot of new insights on how stay-at-home mums like me can tap our online connections + our little space in the worldwideweb {our blogs} for money-making opportunities! Or probably pick up a trick or two on how to set-up an online shop to augment our family income! Customer service is one part of the retail industry that needs a lot of improvement in my opinion, so I’d also like to see the conference’s take on this.

Its twin event, the Stores Asia Expo, on the other hand, is the country’s premier exhibition of retail suppliers and service providers.

This ought to be interesting, so if you will be free on those dates mentioned, you might as well check out the 21st National Retail Conference + Stores Asia Expo 2012. This is sponsored by Festival Supermall, DHL Supply Chain, Wilcon Depot, Celine, , ForMe, The Philippine Star and BusinessWorld.
