Safety Measures For Gun Owners To Follow

tips + tricks, safety at home

In this day when you would hear about a lot of crimes being committed to just about anyone anywhere, when you watch the evening news telecast or read the papers, you would probably see no reason why a lot of people are considering buying guns and other weapons to keep themselves and their families protected in their homes. Crimes like robbery, kidnapping and petty theft are now very rampant everywhere that you cannot probably blame people from trying to arm themselves for their own protection.

I really do not see anything wrong about taking drastic measures such as purchasing fire arms and keeping them handy whether you are at home or during travel. If one can afford to buy it and will be responsible enough to care for it, then, by all means, I see no reason why one cannot get a gun from a gun shop. But personally, even if I can afford and I have enough guts to learn to fire one, I’d rather not. It was, after all, an instrument of violence, and many have faltered in its presence. However, it is just me, though. I am sure a lot of you won’t exactly agree, but if ever you decide to buy a gun, I do hope you follow the following safety measures:

  • Make sure to keep your gun in a place that no little children can find it. It will prove ideal to get a gun safe specifically for this purpose
  • Remember to remove the bullets from your gun and that the safety catch are in place when storing your gun
  • Make sure you purchase only from authorized dealers and secure all the necessary permits and clearances for your gun
  • Keep abreast of current national and local government policies on gun owning to be sure that you are not violating any laws as you purchase a gun of your own

More than anything responsible gun ownership is the key to prevent accidents and incidents related to guns happening from our homes and workplaces.

March Is Here

March, greetings, mum's thoughts

Time really flies. It seemed like it was only yesterday that we are ushering the new month and now we are welcoming another new month! I wonder where February had gone? The little man and I had been on our toes a lot and I will make sure to share with you most of those adventures in the coming days.

I am guilty, I know, too, that I have not been able to update this baby religiously and that you have been seeing more and more of those obligation posts that keep the business afloat. But I do hope you hang in there. A lot of ideas for would-be posts are prancing in my mind as I write this. I just need to find the time to turn them into actual posts, and I will.

March has always been one of the months that I look forward to since I was a child. It was summer, after all, and every student is looking forward to the summer break. I am hoping we can go for a swim, in a beach or pool does not matter really, before this month ends. It has been awhile and I am raring to hit the beach. Should be exciting as always.  😎

This month will also prove to be quite a challenging month ahead. I will be adding more to my plate by getting this regular online gig and I do not know how I’d fare. It would mean spending more time online but I will make sure to get my butt off the chair loads of times, too, and spend as much time with my  impressionable little man as well.

Oh well, here’s wishing that March is treating you well.

Of Summer Blues + Endless Chores

cleaning at home, home chores, mum's thoughts

Is it just me or was it particularly hot today that I hardly want to move a muscle? It goes without saying that summer is indeed just around the corner. The scorching sun reminds me of that lesson in History all those many years ago in high school when our National Hero Jose Rizal was rationalizing why Filipinos tend to be on the lazy and procrastinating side and pointed a finger at the hot, humid tropical climate as the main culprit. Oh well, I cannot agree more. I have such a tiny living space now yet I really find it way too difficult to get up on my toes to clean up the clutter and wash what needs to be washed in the kitchen in this weather. If I as much as lift a finger, I’d be sweltering and sweating all over and it is just too uncomfortable! How am I to kiss and hug the little man when I am all this sweaty? 🙁

I know I can only be lazy for a while, after all, the chores won’t finish on their own no matter how much I wished for them to. What I wouldn’t give for a magic wand that will allow me to do all the work that needs to be done with a single waive! If I had a carpet, I will probably waste no time dialing up a carpet cleaning service to get the job done for me. Where do you think can I dial to have my bathroom and kitchen sink cleaned or have my tile floors swept and mopped?

Oh well, I hope this summer blues go away soon. Maybe thinking less of the weather and more of our ship cruise and zoo visit later this month will do the trick! 😉

How are you thriving in this weather?
