“An Enemy Called Average” by John Mason

books, pr

So how’s your 2014 reading list going mums? If you were like me who’s just trying to squeeze in to read a paperback in between being a full-time mum, a all-around housekeeper and a blogger, I am sure you will find it quite a tricky thing to update your list every too often. But that is okay, a book or two each month do not sound like a bad idea, and am sure we’ll all get to read a good number of books at the end of this year. Let us cross our fingers, shall we? 🙂

Ironic, though, that even when we do not get to read most everything on our reading list, we stumble upon books that pique our interest and add them up to our growing list. I found one exactly like that in this book about going against mediocrity, “An Enemy Called Average,” penned by John Mason. Read more about this very interesting read in this press release below:

A great read for those who are tired of mediocrity. This book will encourage and help you to define your aspirations and goals, and inspire you to aim for excellence in your endeavors.

Within every person has been placed a desire to be different, distinctive…To be an original. Deep down inside, everyone wants to be above average. No one really wants to ‘just get by’… and John Mason believes that regardless of where you are in life, or how much you have or have not accomplished, God has a unique gift and calling just for YOU.

Divided into 52 “nuggets” of truth, An “Enemy Called Average” is a source of godly wisdom, scriptural motivation and practical principles. The words of this book will stir up the gifts inside of you. If you’re looking for answers to the questions you are asking, then this book is for you. If you are tired of having to dig through pages of illusions, smoke screens, and mirrors to get to the bottom line…then you’ve found what you’ve been looking for. Think about it:

When wisdom reigns, it pours.
Fear and worry are interest paid in advance on something you may never own.
Remember that faith to move mountains always carries a pick.
People are born originals, but most die copies.
Ideas go away, but direction stays.
Being a servant won t make you famous just rich.

Give An Enemy Called Average one year, just one nugget a week, and your life will never be the same.

A Sweet Surprise At The Merry Cremas Food Bazaar

mum's thoughts, simple pleasures, lifestyle

I sure got a very sweet surprise when we went to the Merry Cremas Food Bazaar last December. I met my high school favorites, Chico and Del in person that day. They were on hosting duties for the bazaar’s program and for that alone, I was thankful I agreed when my mum blogger friend, Willa, tagged me along to this event! 🙂

mum's thoughts, simple pleasures, lifestyle

I have loved Chico and Del since I was in high school and back in the days you’d always find me glued to the radio between 7-10am so I can listen to their banters, their funny exchanges and, yes, Del’s infectious giggles. They never failed to put a smile on my face and make the day better, especially when I was feeling a bit down. After so many years, this duo became a household name and continue to entertain radio fans everywhere with their wit and antics. It may have been awhile since I last listened to their radio program, but they will always be my fave and I am simply glad that I was able to finally meet then in the flesh! Another item ticked off from my bucket list! A huge thank you to Mommy Willa for convincing me to have this photo taken and for actually taking the shot!

Kindly check this post for more of the Merry Cremas Food Bazaar and may you have a wonderful day! 🙂
