Entertain The Kids With These Cool Kids Academy Apps On New Year’s Eve!

Getting the kids occupied and entertained in the midst of the bustling activities and the preparations for New Year’s Eve is no easy feat. Trust me, I have tried and failed quite a few times. I guess the little ones are also giddy and excited about the New Year that they are finding it hard to focus or relax. It would be good if you can ask them to help around the home with simple and easy tasks but for the little toddlers, or the pre-schoolers, it is not advisable quite yet.

So how do we get the little ones preoccupied and out of our way as we go about the tons of stuff to do and prepare before we welcome the New Year? Tucking them to bed early so they can wake up at midnight will be the most ideal but for mums with very energetic kids, like me, getting them occupied with toys, movies, or their gadgets is the next best thing.

By this time, the little man has probably grown tired of watching his favorite cartoons on the telly as he has been doing that for a few days already. He might be able to keep himself entertained until 2014 ends with the help of the new toys he got for Christmas, but what I am more excited about are the updated Kids Academy apps I’ve stumbled upon not too long ago. I am sure the little one will enjoy playing the updated versions as well as the new fun and educational games and activities in these apps and I have a very valid excuse to let him use his gadget for a little while longer.  :-))

Here are the 3 Kids Academy Apps I am sure your little ones will enjoy, too:

1. Preschool & Kindergarten Books, Songs & Early Reading Games App

Here is a short review I wrote for it on iTunes:

This Book App is Just

Update: Reading is a legacy that I would love to pass on to my son that is why any app that allows him to enjoy reading and explore different characters, stories, + books is all good in my book! This book + reading app for kids is simply a must-have. The storyteller is very engaging, the graphics + illustrations are all too appealing. I also love that the little one can easily work his way around the app with little or no supervision from me! Now the problem lies in how I can limit his gadget time to 2 hours each weekend with this app around!

My old review: This is yet another gem from Kids Academy, the little one enjoyed singing along to the song. Music sure is an effective tool to teach + let he children learn + Kids Academy achieved that with this app. It not only offers hours of musical fun, but also lets little children get familiarized with new words. Having this on his iPad gives me more peace of mind knowing I’ve made tablet-time safer + more fun for my kiddo! Just cool!

Here’s my review on iTunes:

“Kids Academy Did It Again!

I was constantly on the look out for educational apps to download on the little man’s gadget + this one from Kids Academy is a perfect fit! Writing is something he really needs to work on to perfect his strokes + his letters, I love that he can now practice on his hand-writing in the mot fun + enjoyable way. The games + puzzles also made learning a very exciting activity for the kiddo!”

3. Preschool and Kindergarten Games App

Here’s my short iTunes review:

This One’s my fave!

Update: This cool app from Kids Academy has all the elements of a perfect game + learning app for children. The little one truly enjoyed the alphabet tracing part, as well as the letters + numbers activities. Surely there is more fun + learning to be had with this installed on the little one’s gadget!

My old review: If I can have my way, I’d rather have my little man play with this on his tablet for hours on end. This is great for little schoolers + beginner writers. I simply love the number + letter tracing bit!

  1. I just let my son sleeps and wake him up before New Year’s Eve since we have no gadgets rule on weekdays even it is a holiday. 🙂 I’ll check those apps.

    1. the tracing might be tricky for unsteady hands but the little ones can re-trace them over again until they finally get the hang of it!

  2. I’ll look for these Kids Academy apps. My son loves to watch videos about trains in you tube. I have to find apps that will interest him but at the same time help him start learning phonics too. Thanks for sharing!

    1. that is how i started with my son. he simply adores anything that has cars, trains, planes on youtube, so i got him to watch Tutitu videos when he was small just so he can learn the alphabet while enjoying his videos at the same time. i guess it was effective. he learned his letters in no time! 🙂

  3. My kids are grown-up already but thanks for sharing though. I will recommend those apps to my mommy friends out there who still have toddlers and/or kids at preschool stage

  4. I love this. It may seem difficult to get rid of iPad these days kaya I firmly believe it’s all about setting limits and choosing the right apps for the kids. Will definitely download this. Thanks for sharing 🙂

    1. i agree, kids these days are so enamored with their gadgets that it is up to us parents to set limits + restrictions. i am sure your little one will enjoy this! 🙂

  5. Glad there are educational apps for kids. With my little son Jelvin, currently I limit the use of tabs and gadgets.. I want to bring the old-fashioned way of reading books 🙂

    1. these educational apps are a God-send. i limit Jared’s tablet time to 2 hours a day during weekends, but sometimes I try to be lenient especially if he’s behaving his best! 🙂 reading books is something that i hope my little man will love + enjoy, too! 🙂
