KidZania Manila is the ultimate indoor pretend city especially made for kids and any child who goes there will find it absolutely awesome! This is one of the reasons why I have been very excited for its opening day and was so looking forward to bring the little man to the place. I know that we will definitely have a grand time there!

Well, the long wait is over as KidZania Manila is slated to open its doors on 07 August. We were invited to the press preview {#KZMNLPreview} last Wednesday and had the awesome privilege of touring the place before it opens to the public. A short program hosted by ABS-CBN news anchor, Karen Davila, and graced by no less that KidZania Founder and CEO Xavier Lopez Ancona and KidZania Philippines State Governor, Maricel Pangilinan-Arenas was held before the place burst with lights and the tour commenced. It was just too bad that the little man cannot tag along as he had classes that morning. This mum was in awe and felt like a giddy 6-year old. Indeed, this place made me wish I was a child again so I can only imagine how excited Jared would be when he visits the place. I am thinking a KidZania adventure on his birthday would really sound like a very good idea! 😉

Children below 1 year old are free to enter at KidZania Manila but they have to be accompanied by a parent or a guardian. Do take note, though, that adults without kids are not allow to enter, as this is a place especially-made for the kids!

There are different rates for children in different ages {see photo above}, while Adults {aged 15 and up} are charged at Php550 on weekends and Php420 during weekdays. Ticket prices are slated to hike up staring 08 October as more shops are slated to be fully operational by that time. We might have to shell out Php2,000 or more on our visit {for tickets, food, and probably a couple of souvenirs} but I am sure it will be worth every minute the little man spends in this spectacular place!

Online ticketing went live in 03 August and there are limited slots, so I suggest you waste no time and book your tickets now! Do not forget to bring a valid ID with your e-ticket for purchase verification. Tickets are also available at TicketWorld outlets.

The Many Activities For Children

The Urban Garden where your green thumb + little gardener will definitely enjoy

I have to warn you that this is the part where I will bombard you with as much photos I took of the place, and even though my mediocre photograph-taking skills fail to capture the grandeur and awesomeness of the place, I know you will pretty much get the picture!  😉

the little pilots will definitely enjoy learning at the Aviation Academy

travel, mum's thoughts, lifestyle, educational activities for children, play areas for children, KidZania ManilaIn a nutshell, KidZania Manila, the 20th KidZania facility in the world, is a city built specifically for children, it is so much like a replica of an actual city, complete with lovely paved streets, a transport system, as well as functioning economy, and kids will be delighted to see many familiars stores, brands, and shops around. KidZania partnered with more that 40 real-life companies to provide a miniature version of their industry into this beautiful city.

the kids can be a deejay on the radio or write for the Metro Magazine

Unlike other indoor play place around, KidZania Manila is the only play area that will give children a bird’s eye view of how the real grown-up world actually works. Here they will learn about the value of education and getting a degree, working hard, earning for themselves, and wisely using the money they earn. They can open their very own bank account at BPI {yes, they have to do it on their own and mum can only look from the outside so she can snap a photo!} or they can also opt to use the money they earn either by buying souvenir items from the shop or by enrolling at the academy so they can earn more, or saving it in the bank.

the little ones can have their 5 minutes of fame at the ABC-CBN Studio, complete with a Showtime and TV Patrol set

We toured the place in groups and everyone was just in awe of everything that we got to see during the tour.  All I can really say is “Zaz,” which is the Kidzanian word for “wow.” Mentally, I was taking note of the places Jared will most likely love to proceed, and my list includes the Pit Crew Training Center, Gas Station, Car Design and Dealership, the Aviation Academy, to name a few.

KidZania Manila aims to let the little ones do big things and here they can opt to be anything they want to be, they can enroll at the Aviation Academy to be pilots, they can train to be doctors, chefs, police officers, firefighters {and actually put out a fire}, models, journalists or lawyers, or they can also take on equally important jobs like a fast food crew, a drugstore staff, or a laundromat attendant. They can also try their hands at grown up duties like filing their taxes or doing the groceries.

Check here for a complete list of the activities the kids can do at KidZania Manila.

5 Reasons Why You’d Love To Bring Your Kiddos

KidZania Manila’s RFID {Radio Frequency Identification} security bracelet
  1. The Top-Notch Security ~ KidZania Manila put premium on children security and each child that goes inside are given RFID {Radio Frequency Identification} security bracelet. The child’s adult companion will also wear a matching security bracelet and no child will be allowed to leave without their registered adult companion. CCTV monitoring cameras, paging systems, as well as emergency facility features are also available to ensure the security of each child. It is also good to note that KidZania personnel are trained to assist special-needs children and key front-line personnel are also trained to administer first aid.

  2. This is the Ultimate Role-Playing Environment For Children we all know how important play is to children’s learning and development, and KidZania Manila mastered the art of combining play with learning through their numerous role-play activities that will allow the children to have a grasp of how the world actually works. It is the perfect place to have fun and learn at the same time! And did I mention the kids can also get to wear uniforms and use tools!

The Kidzos are what the little ones will need to pay for products and earn for the services they rendered
  3. The Children Can Learn About The Concept of Money and Earning ~ my little one thought that the ATM is a money-making machine, that if you do not have cash, you just go to the ATM to get some. He still cannot clearly grasp the concept of money and earning at his age and he will surely get a clear picture once he gets to KidZania. Upon entry, kids are given a check worth 50 Kidzos, which they have to encash at the BPI Bank. They can use the money to pay for products and services around, whether they opt to buy something or enroll in a class. They also have to pay each shop so they can gain entrance. When they ran out of cash, they can also take on different jobs so they can earn more KidZos {that is the KidZania currency}. In addition, they can also learn invaluable life skills including communication, problem solving, critical thinking, and teamwork.

  4. This Is A Place Where Children Can Do Big Things ~ Our kids can be a fire fighter, a car driver, a doctor, a police officer, or practically anything they want to be in a day and it is a great immersion experience to allow them to be responsible grown-ups in a day. While at play, they will engage in interactive activities that will allow them to learn about the nature of each profession. And since they will not be accompanied by mum and dad, this is also a great opportunity for the kids to do things on their own and learn about independence.

  • Wear Comfortable Clothes And Shoes ~ Kidzania Manila is a huge place and it is best for you and your children to dress comfortably when you visit. Also make sure to wear comfortable shoes or trainers. If your child perspires a lot, I also highly advise that you bring a spare {or two} shirt.
  • Food Is Not Allowed ~ Make sure to eat a heavy meal before going so you can have enough energy to tackle the very exciting task at hand. Also note that food is not allowed inside the premises aside from very specific exceptions. Restaurants and food kiosks, including McCafe and Yellow Cab are available inside should you go hungry, which I am guessing you will, after hours of touring.
  • Do Not Forget To Bring A Camera And Take Loads Of Photos The place and everything in it is just to beautiful not to be captured in photographs so gear up for some serious photo taking and charge your cameras and your gadgets. The place also has a very good WI-FI connection so no worries for those who plan to share their adventure on Instagram as it unfolds.
  • A Place For Mums To Rest ~ Since mums cannot join in on all the fun activities, there is a designated place for them to rest their tired feet and relax for a bit while the children enjoy.
