The SM Malls have been an essential part of the Filipino’s Christmas celebration. Aside from going there to do our Christmas shopping and spend quality time with our family, or catching up with dearly-missed balikbayan relatives and friends, SM Malls have found the way to make the Filipino’s Christmas even more magical with those lovely holiday-themed installations that has been featured in so many people’s Christmas photos and selfies.
This year is no exemption as they unveil the Disney Christmas Village at the SM North Edsa ~ The Block Atrium. We are lucky to be one of the people to get first dibs on these beautiful displays and we had such a lovely time having our photos taken with each of the colorful Christmas attractions.
Mickey’s House
I did feel like a child again as I excitedly explore our beloved character’s charming little house and his equally charming red car. The lovely mailbox also added a very cute touch.
Minnie’s House
Minnie wishes mall-goers all the best as we excitedly ventured into her front door like giddy 7-year olds. I love the heart-shaped sign, the pristine white picket fences and the lovely color of this house, especially the roofs!
Goofy’s Diner
Yes, this house is screaming Goofy all over it! We particularly loved the bike in front and the little one enjoyed scrutinizing each meal served on his diner. I think he wants to order some hotdogs to-go!
During the unveiling of the Disney Christmas Village, lucky SM shoppers were also treated to heart-warming Christmas carols but the highlight of the afternoon was when those who attend had the time of their lives meeting Mickey and Donald up-close and personal and have their photos taken with them. Around this time, my little mousekeeter requested to go to the toy store to look at Lego and toy cars, instead.
The Christmas Village will be up until 10 January, 2016 so families will have more time to visit and have a magical Christmas experience with the family.
Apart from the fun and exciting Disney Christmas Village, a Disney Gift Shop was also set up just in front of the exhibit, so mums and kids can shop till they drop for their favorite Disney items. Among the nice items I saw on display are this lovely Mickey Mouse jacket for kids, and these uber cute Disney Princess accessories that I bet every little girl will love.
Aside from the exhibit at The Block ~ Atrium, other installations were also set up in different part of SM North Edsa for the shoppers enjoyment. These include the following:
- Inside Out Holidays {City Center 2nd Floor} ~ This is in celebration of the newest addition to the exciting world of Disney animation. This is where the kids and kids-at-heart can experience the full range of emotions and have their photos taken with Joy, Sadness, and Anger.
- Here Comes Santa {City Center 3rd Floor} ~ it will surely make every child’s Christmas extra special to have their wish granted and meet Santa in person! Take a turn at his big Santa Chair and have your photos taken with St. Nick on December 05, 12, and 20!
- The Good Dinosaur Experience {Sky Garden} ~ yes, the newest Disney hero is not to be left out. Press the mystic stone and be captivated by the beautiful fireflies just like how it is in the movie with Arlo and his dad!
- Galactic Christmas {Annex Cyberzone 4th Floor} ~ since Star Wars is returning to the big screen this December, SM Malls made sure to include them in this year’s Merry SM Christmas celebration. Let the force awaken with exciting events and numerous activations. Meet Star Wars cosplayers on Decemer 17, 19, and 20 at 2pm and 4pm at the Annex Cyberzone Area. The interactive Star Wars Display, that includes the majestic Tie-Fighter Jet will also be up until 10 January. You can also view the limited edition Star Wars toys and collector’s item on display at the Annex 4th Floor and Upper Ground Floor.
