mum's thoughts, greetings, Happy New Year

While everyone else is excitedly going about their Christmas and New Year celebrations, I was happily back home to relish and make the most of the brief holidays and truly take a break before going back to my daily regular schedule, hence, the zero post on Christmas and New Year’s Day. I did manage to squeeze in a post at Jared’s Little Corner before we unplugged for the New Year’s, though.

I was away from Wi-Fi and my laptop for a few days during Christmastime, a dear friend was actually thinking I’ve already forgotten her {which is never gonna happen, by the way!}. I enjoyed every bit of my break, though. I miss home and I love that it reminds me so much of my Mama and my Papa at every turn and every corner. Although much has changed, and the house is even way older now, I love how things still remain the same and how it remains to be the same old house I grew up in. It was and will always be my refuge, a place where I find solace, and if I could have my way, I would love to have the house renovated so we can live there. It was the cradle of my dreams and aspirations and it will be such a privilege to raise my son in the same place where my parents raised me. Even the little one enjoyed our stay and would love to go back there as soon as we can!

As planned, we spent our simple New Year’s eve celebration there. We cooked a simple yet lovely feast, complemented the meals with a couple of pita sandwiches and a number of our favorite round fruits, and lighted some fireworks just like we used to when we were younger and when my parents were still around. Although I was down with a bad tummy ache as we welcome 2016, we had a lovely celebration and I looked back to the year that was with much gratitude and love.

2015 was indeed a good year for our family! Everyone was in the pink of healthy, albeit with occasional aches and pains here. For our good health alone, I am grateful for 2015. It was also the year we made a number of wonderful memories and I am sure we will make more of them again this new year. My loves are my most beautiful blessings and I will be eternally grateful for them!

The year was also good for my growing little man. He is 6 now and I cannot believe that I will be a mum of a 7 year old in a few months! How time flies! He is growing more each day and I am ever grateful to be the keeper, the guardian, and the carer of such a sweet and sensitive young man. I am thankful that he is doing well in school and diligently studies for his lessons and his exams. The good marks are just icing on the cake. All in all, I am cannot be much happier that he is growing up to be a happy and mighty fine young lad. May this year be another awesome year for him!

2015 is also a year of great opportunities for my blog. It is such a privilege to be able to earn while doing something that I absolutely love and I feel truly blessed that God used my blog as a way for me to have opportunities to earn my keep even while I am at home busy caring for my little one’s needs. I am ever grateful for the brands and companies that trusted me and collaborated with me this past year and I look forward to working with them again in 2016. More importantly, I am ever grateful that God used my blog as a way for me to meet lots of wonderful people and be touched by their inspiring story. I am also thankful that through my blog, I was able to connect with you, my readers. We may not know each other personally, but I know that if you can relate with one or two things I have shared here over the course of the year, I know that we made a connection and if I ever inspired you through my posts, know that it means a lot to me! I am looking forward to sharing more inspiring and educating posts with you this 2016.

I have always loved new beginnings and starting with a clean slate that I look forward to 2016 with much enthusiasm and gratitude. May it be as wonderful as the year that was before it. May it be as blessed, as prosperous, and as fruitful. May this be the year we find peace amidst the discord, may this be the year we find what we have been searching for, may this be the year we find our true purpose, may this be our year.  May we write this year better than the last and may we always go about it with a thankful and grateful heart!  😀

Cheers to 2016!  :drink:
