I love the mouth-watering goodness of the spicy and creamy laksa! yum!

To give the public a delicious preview of the McCormick Noodle and Seasoning Mixes, an event dubbed the Flavor Nation Festival was held at the Bonifacio High Street Central Amphitheater this Saturday. Open to the public for free, 5 delectable noodle bars were set up so the crowd can enjoy the 5 new recipe mixes ~ Birthday Noodles, Pad Thai, Laksa, Chap Chae, and Palabok {yes, it is a delight to know they included a local favorite!}. I really love the flavors of Palabok, but it was the Chap Chae variant that I was most curious about, and unsurprisingly, it became my favorite among the 5!

Apart from the mouthwatering noodle bars set up, distinguished chefs were also invited to whip up their signature dishes for the crowd to sample. Chef Bernice Pimentel of Ilustrado wowed the crowd with its flavorful callos and paella, while Chef Marc Nocon of Burgers & Brewskies served juicy and richly-flavored sliders. Chef Jerome Lim of Buta Wagyu put together yummy pork buns and waygu rice, while Chef extraordinaire Margarita Fores of Cafe Bola and Cibo assembled delicious sandwiches with 3 dips, as well as served classic and award-winning Filipino dishes.

You will fall in love with Chef Sabrina Artadi’s {of Sabrina’s Kitchen} very interesting laing

Sabrina Artadi of Sabrina’s Kitchen made this very special laing topped with green bits of mangoes and cumin, while Aileen Anastacio of Marmalade Kitchen brought sweet cakes, yummy cookies, and thirst-quenching snow cones {which, unfortunately, I was not able to sample. It would have been a perfect end to my gustatory adventure on a hot April afternoon!}. Chef Jordi Barraca of La Lola Churreria made delectable churros, which I was so looking forward to eat again! A juice bar was also set-up serving refreshing drinks like Rosemary Iced tea, Tropical Summer, and Herbed Peach. I tried the second concoction and loved the faint hint of ginger in my drink!  :drink:

After feasting on all the delightful treats, guests can have their photos taken at the lovely photo booth set-up which reminds me so much of the beach, the sea, and summer. Those who dropped by in the evening were also treated to the festival vibe music provided by an impressive line-up of notable names in the music industry, headed by rock icon Basti Artadi and indie artist Reese Lansangan.

And, of course, the Flavor Nation Festival experience will never be complete without dropping by McCormick Avenue to take home some of your favorite spice or mixes. Each food item purchased allowed the buyer to share the same product with the Childhope Asia Philippines and Missionaries of the Poor foundations letting us share the yummy McCormick flavors with our less fortunate brothers. The new noodle and seasoning mixes are also up for grabs here, the Birthday Noodles and Palabok variants sell at Php120, while the 3 other flavors, Chap Chae, Laksa, and Pad Thai, sell at Php195 per 180gm pack. Each pack makes up to 4 servings.

A gastronomic prelude for the Labor Day weekend, the McCormick Flavor Nation Festival not only allowed people to get in and sample good food for free, they even assembled tokens and a copy of the latest F&B Report issue for the visitors to take home and prepared raffles where lucky individuals can win exciting prizes. To qualify for the raffle, guests only need to have their Passport stamped when they visit a booth, 3 stamps entitles a person for a ticket to the raffle. I was not so lucky that day, but 3 lucky ladies were announced to have won a Tefal cookware each while I was getting ready to bid the delicious gathering goodbye.
