Find a Better Choice

You probably are already aware of the many foods that you eat on a daily basis that are not going anything for the health or integrity of your body. Though you have heard all of the data on processed foods and red meat you might still not have all of the information. There are some items that you eat on a regular basis that you probably did not realize were causing harm to your body. Condiments like mayo, for example, are packed with some pretty bad stuff that can cause your cholesterol levels to go way up.

A diet that is rich in cholesterol is going to cause you some serious health complications later. When you absolutely love the taste of mayonnaise you might find it difficult to part with it. A turkey sandwich just doesn’t seem complete without a little bit of mayo to keep it from being too dry. Don’t give up what you love for the sake of your diet simply find a healthier alternative. “Just Mayo” by HamptonCreek uses plant protein instead of eggs. This makes it a much healthier option for your meals that still has the same amazing taste you love.

Break the Chain

There are many patterns that you might find yourself in life that can be tough to break. Most, if not all, of these patterns are going to be related to food. When you are used to eating specific things you do not even realize that you’re limiting yourself. Snacking, for example, is an easy way to eat empty calories and add negative substances to your system. This is especially true if you are only snacking on processed foods that are high in salt. Switching what you snack on is a simple way to notice a change in your health.

Ditch the chips and go for something that has more to offer. Fruits and berries are excellent because they are sweet and delicious, a great combo for snacking, while also having plenty of useful benefits. The vitamins, nutrients, and antioxidants that you can find in a piece of fruit will far outweigh any of the cheap thrills that you experience while shoveling handfuls of chips into your mouth. This is a change that can be very easy for you to make and one that is not difficult to commit to once you’ve gotten into the habit of grabbing fruit first.

    1. Mayo kasi has eggs kaya definitely it has high cholesterol. Some opt for vinaigrette as dressing instead. It sure is hard, I struggle with this on a regular basis, but it really is a must to eat healthier as we age.

  2. I honestly feel disappointed that here in the Philippines, the healthier the foods are, the more expensive it is. So most of us settle to foods that are within our budget. Especially if we’re budgeting for a big family. Pero kung affordable ang mga pinaka-healthy na pagkain, malamang araw araw yun ang nakahain sa hapagkainan ng bawat pamilya, noh? 🙂

    1. It’s a sad truth. Organic items sell at higher prices that sometimes more people opt for what they can afford even when these food items are of less nutritional value. I just hope the government will make it mandatory for every household to have an organic garden, that way we can be sure of having healthier and more affordable fruits and veggies to serve on our dinner tables. 🙂

  3. It’s difficult to stay healthy, specially when you’re used to eating junk foods like me! lol. Now that I’m on my journey to a flatter belly, I’ve become more conscious of what I eat. Not perfect yet, but little by little, hopefully, I can completely avoid the junk foods. hehe.

    1. I guess it makes it doubly hard to eat healthy when you are pregnant, especially when you have cravings and all. I remember eating burgers almost everyday while I was pregnant, and now that I think of it, it must’ve been the reason why my little one now has a big appetite for meat! Yup, more veggies and fruits for you and the little peanut to enjoy! Hope you have a safe third trimester and a safer delivery. 🙂

  6. Now that I’m breastfeeding I really have to be more conscious about making healthier food choices. I find that my problem is really discipline. Haha! Snacking is one of the things I can’t help but do.

    1. Aren’t we all guilty of unhealthy snacking! Haha! Sometimes what I do is intentionally leave out the chips section at the supermarket so I won’t be able to load up my cart with junk foods! 😀

  7. As much as possible I eat fruits and vegetables, not just to be healthy but because I love them a lot. The only problem is, I also eat too much junk food and I’m so lazy to work out lols.

  8. Going through the fitness path could really be a hard task. Working out can be really tiring and hard to fit in the schedule. I honestly get the chance to eat healthy whenever I’m in the province. It’s hard to look for fresh food here in the metro.
