As your family gets bigger and you start to accumulate more things, you will notice that you may be running out of space. There is only so long that you can put things in the attic or in the garage before it becomes too much.
What you need to do is try to create more space in your home. You can do this in many ways, but, there are some pointers you should remember to get the most out of your extra space.
Get Creative in the Bathroom
When it comes to the bathroom, there are often multiple products kept in there as well as towels and other cleaning products. Because a lot of bathrooms don’t offer a lot of storage, it can be difficult to find the additional space you need.
One way you can create more room is to utilize under your sink area by adding storage such as a cupboard. You can also use the space above the sink and beside the toilet to store toilet rolls and other toiletries.
Modular Units
Using modular units is a great way to add space in a bedroom such as a child’s room. It helps to keep things tidy while maximising the amount of space you have. If you have more than one child in the room, you can have separate space on each side of the room that can be color-coordinated for each child.
You can also utilize space under the beds to add drawers. Then you can keep bedding or toys under there and again have each drawer for each child.
Use all Your Available Space
If you are struggling for extra space, you might have to think a little outside the box to get the answer. If you have a high ceiling, then you can add shelving that goes to the top of the walls. It will create a lot of extra space and can also look stylish if you use a natural wood finish.
Because of the scale and size of the work, you will need to find a builder to ensure the construction is safe and secure. When it is completed, you can use a permanently fitted ladder on wheels to reach the higher areas.
Use All the Space in Your Wardrobe
Although wardrobes are supposed to be for storage, they are often inefficient in using all the available space. If you want to add more storage, try adding shelves above and below the rails for clothes and blankets.
You can also use the space on the back of the wardrobe door by adding a hanging shoe rack or hooks for coats and belts. There are also special hangers you can buy that can double the clothes you can hang in the same area.
Just by adding these few things, you can greatly increase your storage capacity and free up space in your attic and garage. That will enable you to store more things in the future.
Mum’s Two Cents
Limited space for the hope can really be rather frustrating but it is amazing what boxes and a little creativity can do to your small home. Installing shelves on your wall and adding catch-all bins can work wonders in helping you get those extra space and containers for the little one’s knickknacks or mum’s stash.
