If you are worried that you do not have a green thumb, worry no more. I do not possess the prowess to care for plants and make them thrive, either, but over time, I have come to realize that caring for plants is so much like caring for our little ones. We not only need to water them for them to thrive and grow, we also need to give them love and nurturing.

If you are wondering which plants to care for if you are a beginner, wonder no more. I made a list of plants you may want to start caring for to jumpstart your gardening and plantita journey. You may also consider getting additional gardening tools like shovels, sprinkler, or best hose reels for the money! But these are optional as you can always start with whatever tools you have available around your house.

So, on to my list of 5 easy plants for beginners:

Snake Plants

This plant tops my list of easy plants to care for as they require very little attention. They can also thrive indoors with little or no sunlight and can even go on for days without water. This is a go-to plant for newbies and forgetful plant mummas.

Snake Plants are ideal to keep at home as they not only remove toxins in the home but can also produce oxygen during nighttime and are very effective against allergies. Some of the popular and affodable Snake Plant varieties include Dwarf Snake Plant, Mother-in-law’s tongue, Moonshine, Silver Siam and Bacularis. They are perfect additions in the bedroom or in the living room.

Lucky Bamboo

This plant makes for a great beginner plant. It is very easy to care for and will thrive well indoors. It is commonly grown on water but you also have the option to transfer it in soil. Aloe Vera

This medicinal plant is very easy to care for. They thrive on minimal care and can go on for weeks without water. Most say they do well under full sun, but based on personal experience, they prefer shaded areas They can also thrive on little or no sunlight, so they are also most ideal to place inside the bathroom.

Some of the benefits of the Aloe Vera include treating skin conditions, reducing wrinkles, healing burns, and its anti-oxidant properties.
