Teaching The Little Man At Home

Jared, jared's nook, online resources for mums, tot schooling, children learning, Learning is fun
look who joined to help the little man with his numbers! ^_^

I have mentioned on occasions that if I could I would really love to homeschool the little man. Even when that plan did not push through as we find alternative ways for our son to learn, I never pass on the chance to teach him at home and rummage online for learning printables that I am sure my little one will enjoy.

I chanced upon this Despicable Me printables while visiting my favorite homeschool blog and I immediately downloaded and have it printed, knowing Jared will love it to bits. The printable pack includes this Counting From 1-10 page, where the little man has to trace the letters from 1-20, as well as this Gluing Fun activity, where Jared is asked to cut out these lovable Despicable Me characters and glue them into their corresponding boxes.

The little man enjoyed the activity a lot. He may not have developed his cutting skills to the fullest but am sure with constant practice, and loads of worksheets like this, he will learn how to cut properly in time. I have also stumbled upon this How To Train Your Dragon printable and I cannot wait for the little man to work on it.

By the way, I have also recently discovered K5 Learning, which has an online reading and math program for kindergarten to grade 5 students. I’ve been given a 6-week free trial test and write a review of their program and I cannot wait to try it out with the little man. If you are a blogger, you may want to check out their open invitation to write an online learning review of their program.

{Where-To-Weekend} Teacher Yaya: A Workshop

announcement, events, online resources for mums , workshops

Being a nanny sure is one great responsibility, they are, after all, mum’s partner in raising her little ones. Nannies, even when they are under your employ, are more like a vital part of your family, helping take care and raise your children. I was not able to have first hand experience with a nanny as I was lucky enough to have my sister around to help take care of the little man when I went back to work briefly right after he was born, but I think finding the best nanny and having one that shares the same passion and sentiments with regards to your children is a blessing .

Needless to say, much like parents, nannies also need all the help and support they can get. And it will surely be a worthwhile investment for mums to send their nannies to workshops and training to be able to improve themselves and the kind of work and services they render.

That is why for mums with nannies, I recommend you check the Teacher Yaya: A Workshop facilitated by The Learning Basket. Happening on 15 February, 2014 at the Medela House, Quezon City between 9-11.30am, this workshop for our favorite  household help will tackle topics such as:
  • yaya’s special role in a child’s life
  • How to understand a child’s actions and not think that he is “naughty”
  • How to respond to one’s alaga
  • Why TV and tablets are not good for kids below three years old
  • Why and how to play with one’s alaga, depending on age
Each slot is available for Ph500 inclusive of snacks, handouts and certificates. Limited slots are available, so if you are interested, do sign up your yaya now.
To register, and to know more about this workshop, kindly visit The Learning Basket Website.
