For this week’s GT entry, I have this song as a shoe-in, Despicable Me theme, I’ve been humming this tune for weeks (or was it months?) on end. Blame it on me + my son’s addiction to this lovable sinister character, Gru. We’ve watched the flick so many times, I can now make a good Gru impression + memorized almost everyone’s lines by heart (yes including some of the minions’ garbled dialogues!). We simply fell in love with all the characters that my son (including me) wouldn’t mind watching it many times over.

gt:something to smile about

Been really racking my brain for a tune that puts a smile on my face. I know there are a few dozens of them over the years but, alas, when it is time to summon the memories + come up with just one, single title, my mind went blank + came up with nothing. Darn anesthesia! So I put this post on hold unnecessarily, until earlier today, when, suddenly, my mind conjured this lovely music video all those many years ago of beautiful + interesting Bono + street parades + all those “I’m sorry” notes that peppered the video. The Sweetest Thing come into full focus in my mind’s eye, + as realization dawned, yeah, this one does made me smile whenever I hear it! Here’s the original one I got from Youtube:

An interesting trivia about this song:

It was written by Bono for his wife, Ali Hewson, as an apology for having to work in the studios for the Joshua Tree session on her birthday!+ is originally released as a b-side to the 1987 release Where the Streets Have No Name.

pink friday:pink tokens

Firstly, let us all bid adieu to the month of March (yep, time does fly by quickly!) + welcome the happy, summer April month with a bang!

Happy April Fool’s everyone! Hope no one is fooling around at your expense to celebrate the occasion 😉 I just remember this prank my TL pulled one April Fool’s several years ago. He circulated around telling everyone that he is leaving his post + we were just so disappointed about his news, everyone was so lonely + some even started to cry, only to find out in the end that it was actually a joke he orchestrated all for the spirit of fun! Some wacky TL I had, right?

Okay, enough of that and on to the order of the day, here is my very first Pink Post for April.

As the anticipation builds up for the PMC Grand Eye Ball come April 3rd, a few mummies can’t simply contain their excitement to share photos on Facebook of tokens they bought for the special event. Mummy Mitch, in particular, posted her very cute made-to-order PMC keychains. Even Mommy Willa (as if she can attend the event) also posted her cute little token. I was racking my brain again on what pink stuff to post today when these mummies sparked an inspiration + I remembered the cutey little tokens i bought, recalling that most of them are in pink too! (i have some blue + red ones also).

This is actually just a simple memento, as I lack the budget + the creativity too that most mummies possess, but i really find them adorable + had a blast browsing through the display in the shop where i bought them. I only hope the mummies will like ’em! Anyway, it’s really the thought that counts, right? 😉
