“There is no school equal to a decent home, and no teacher equal to a virtuous parent.” So goes a quote attributed to well-known nonviolence movement leader and Nobel Prize winner Mahatma Gandhi.

Indeed, truer words have never been said. After all, children first learn within the confines of their homes amidst loving parents and well-meaning caregivers. At home, children learn the basics of communicating, personal care, and proper conduct. It is within the safety of the home that they first learn about family, love, and security.

This is why we from Educating for Life or EFL want to gather together with our fellow homeschoolers as one community at the Philippine Homeschool Convention {PHC} 2019: to connect with and inspire one another to be the “teachers” and build the “schools” that Gandhi was talking about.

EFL, a group composed of four homeschooling moms, organizes events for homeschoolers and other individuals or groups that are into homeschooling and what we like to call “intentional education.” We have been organizing events for families ~ homeschoolers, in particular ~ since 2014.

This year, EFL, in partnership with Moneygment and SMX Convention Center, SM Aura Premier, is pleased to present the No Place Like Home Philippine Homeschool Convention.

Believing that there is no place like home ~ especially when it comes to teaching our children—we invite our fellow parents to gather together at this year’s PHC so we can equip ourselves and bravely forge ahead in the difficult but extremely rewarding task of educating our children not just academically, but in other aspects too.

Character. Virtues. Life lessons. These are things that children don’t normally learn from textbooks and within classroom walls.

It is the essence of home, of family, of this virtuous calling of educating our children that we celebrate in the upcoming No Place Like Home: Philippine Homeschool Convention 2019.

To be held on 07 September, 2019 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura Premier, Taguig City, this year’s convention will gather hundreds of Filipino parents and provide them with inspiration and encouragement to live out their calling as their children’s primary educators.

Children, education, children learning, learning, announcement, events, early children education, homeschooling, press release

Beyond The Silver and The Gold, Condo Coach and The Event Detailer presents Ready To Homeschool – A Primer on Homeschooling by Michelle Padrelanan. Held at D’ Cup Coffee Republic on April 14, 2018 at 1:00 – 5:00 p.m., this learning event is for newbie homeschoolers and those who are exploring this educational option.

Homeschooling in the Philippines has slowly but surely gained popularity in the last 15-20  years. Previously seen as an educational method that was only available to young actors and actresses and the elite or rich, it is now a viable alternative to sending children to traditional schools. What is homeschooling and how is it done? Michelle Padrelanan plans to answer that and other questions pertaining to homeschooling that will give the attendee the confidence to homeschool their child.

Parents will also learn the pros and cons of homeschooling, how to start homeschooling, how to craft their family’s homeschool mission statement, how to handle major life events while homeschooling and where to enroll. As a bonus feature, attendees will receive a list of free homeschool resources that can be found online.

After the seminar, attendees will be Ready To Homeschool!  They will have the confidence to embark on their family’s homeschool journey with a vision of the future of their homeschooled children.

Michelle Padrelanan has been homeschooling their children since 2002. She has successfully graduated their two older children who are now thriving in college. Her passion for homeschooling has lead her to create her blog in 2010, Beyond The Silver and The Gold, to encourage and inspire other families to homeschool.  She firmly believes that the key to nation building is building up a strong family. Therefore, parenting needs to be intentional. She and her husband work together to build up their children’s faith in God, develop their character and strengthen their family values. She is well-known in the homeschool community as an influencer, blogger, speaker and a veteran homeschool mom.

Registration for Ready To Homeschool is ongoing at bit.ly/homeschoolmanda. Ticket price is P1,100.00.

Join The Philippine Homeschool Conference 2017: Educating For The World Of Tomorrow

I have always considered homeschooling my little man and I am not closing my doors in exploring this option in the near future. This is the reason why I support the Homeschool Association of the Philippine Islands {HAPI}’s Philippine Homeschool Conference 2017.

Here’s what you need to know about the Philippines Homeschool Conference 2017

The Philippines Homeschool Conference, the most anticipated gathering of homeschoolers in the Philippines, is an annual gathering full of information and inspiration for people who want to learn more about homeschooling, are just starting out, or want to improve their homeschooling experience. The conference ~ specifically by way of its Expo ~ is also a venue where homeschoolers {and even non-homeschoolers!} can look at and purchase materials, plus get to know more about services and programs that may aid them in their homeschooling.

The Philippines Homeschool Conference is a great venue for homeschooling mums to learn the ins and outs of homeschooling, challenges, and how to deal with them, as well as discover the technical aspects of homeschooling. It is also the perfect venue for first-time homeschoolers to learn more about the subject and decide how to apply this on their own journey.

The expo also a great opportunity for homeschooling mums to converge and swap homeschooling stories, as well as shop for homeschool materials, books, books, and more!

The PHC 2017: Homeschool to the Future

This year, HAPI, with Educating for Life as the Conference organizer, is setting up the PHC to be an event that will inspire and equip parents to “homeschool to the future.”

The world we live in has changed drastically over the past few years, everything is fast-paced and almost instant. these days. With the advent of the Internet Age, information is literally available with a press of a button. With these changes, the educational sphere has also changed a lot. Educators are beginning to realize that beyond rote memorization and spewing out of data, students today must learn what to do with the information that they have.

The more valuable skills to be learned are critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving – skills that homeschoolers can embrace and promote in their homes. Children are taught to learn how to learn – and love how to learn – as they make use of the technology and resources available to them.

This is the inspiration behind the theme of this year’s Philippine Homeschool Conference: “Homeschool to the Future: Educating for the World of Tomorrow.” As in previous years, the conference aims to encourage and equip homeschooling families in their journey through practical breakout sessions, the expo filled with educational materials, and by providing a venue where homeschoolers can meet and gather as a community.

The PHC 2017 will be held from 7 a.m. {start of registration} to 6PM on 07 October, 2017 at Treston International College in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig
