memories to last a lifetime

the little man’s first studio photo…

Apart from savoring every little first, every little milestone + every little achievement of our little ones, we’d also like to keep something tangible that would remind us of that very special moment: a ticket to his first carousel ride, a certificate of his first haircut, a petal or two of the first flower he’s ever picked for mum, they will never fail to bring us back to that very moment + bring a smile or a tear or two on our faces. Something that makes for such perfect memento are the photos we took, either taken haphazardly or with expert hands, to capture that first smile, that first step, or that first toothy grin. I must admit being a paparazzi indeed comes with the territory as you chronicle each of your little one’s day-by-day activities + developments, + ultimately, his life!

Photographs has that endearing mass appeal not only to mums with tots but also for every person, in general, I guess. It is probably the reason why in the advent of modern-day technology + gadgets, photography, along with photograph printing, will simply never go out-of-style. I think it is the same fire that fuel mum’s passion to see her child’s life unfold in pictures that also fuels a couple’s desire to hire the best utah wedding photographer to capture their very special day of union in moving + heart-warming photographs.

Photographs, after all, are memories that are made to last a lifetime, something I can show my son’s children in the future, if I will ever live long enough to meet them all!

the little man turns another month older!

motherhood, Jared, Jared's nook, milestones

That is right! My little tot just turned 34 months today + we shall be celebrating his 3rd birthday in 2 months time! At this age, he can now recognize + read all the letters of the alphabet, as well as all the numbers. He can also name a number of things that begins with the letters. Much thanks to all those long hours spent watching TUTITU + the likes! He can also recognize most shapes, but is hard up on pronouncing most of the difficult ones ~ especially rectangle, octagon + hexagon {which made me wonder why they even have to give those shapes the most complicated names in the first place!}. I noticed that he is now also more keen + receptive whenever I teach him something. The other day I was teaching him about body parts + he willingly repeated after me + can tell the elbow from his shoulder after a few tries!

I also noticed that Jared’s imagination has been quite active lately. I caught him talking {to himself or to an imaginary friend, I guess} + sheepishly smiled at me when he noticed I was there. He would also be quick to mention that the little man he saw on the tellie was “Jai-jai” {that is how he pronounced his name} + the mum was me or the dad was his dad! He would also point to the sky often + tell me that Spiderman or Captain America or Iron Man is somewhere out there!

He is also more sensitive of other people’s feelings now + would be quick to say sorry or kiss or hug someone whenever he felt like he did something wrong. Also, he would now listen, at least most times, whenever he is told to do something.  I guess it cannot be denied that my little man is now growing! Before I know it he will be the one to choose his clothes + shoes for himself!

I guess I have said this too many times before that may he not grow too fast, but maybe it really is inevitable. Oh well, how about changing it to simply grow to be the person you ought to be + I will never be a happier mum!  Happy 34th month, my little one, thank you for all the wonderful + beautiful things you brought into my life, not to mention the millions of hugs + kisses! Mum will love you always, no matter what!

How quickly time flies, I still remember the day when my son would fit into my folded arms perfectly like it was yesterday. The days zoomed by + now I am not sure where have all those times gone? I now have this not-so-little toddler, that when not everyone is presuming he’s 4 years old, they are inquiring rather curiously whether how old he is. A few months from now + I will have a true-blue three-year old + as much as I am thrilled at the possibility of him going to play school soon + mum bringing him there armed with all the accoutrements needed for every toddler activity at play school, I just wish time would run a little slower so I have some more time to baby my little man.

I miss those days when we celebrate his turning a month older, just before he turned one. We’d have a little celebration at home: buy a cake, cook pasta or something + take loads of photos! Nowadays, I make sure to inform him that it is indeed his month-birthday + we’d sometimes do something fun or go to the mall to spend the afternoon there. Much like we did yesterday 🙂 He is needing a hair cut quite badly so that was our main reason for going to the mall.
