Mum Inspires: Live In The Moment

So I guess Tuesday will be the official Mum Inspires day!

This is just going to be a quick post as I have to prepare for an event in Makati Shangri-La later today, my very first blogging event for this year. About time! I just chanced upon this lovely post on Facebook while working on a deadline and I deem it too cute and inspiring not to share here.

Living in the moment sure beats being down, depressed, negative and lonely all the time so we must all make a habit of it. Notice how you will feel more relaxed and appreciate the blessings that come your way when your mind is not muddled with the what-its, the could’ve beens, the troubles of the past or the worries of the future and other unnecessary stuff that linger there.

Of course, if all else fails, nothing beats keeping a positive attitude towards life to keep you going through the toughest of times. So today, let’s all practice living in the moment and keeping that positive mindset. And let us all continue to be an inspiration to one another!

Happy Tuesday mums!

Mum Inspires: Slow Down

mum's thoughts, mum inspires, quotable quotes

We live in a very fast-paced life, with one too many things trying to get our attention all at the same time. It was easy to go with the flow, be consumed by what we consider the norm and drag ourselves chasing after the kind of life society is dictating us to lead. But it would really do us good to slow down a bit, to pause and smell the flowers, so to speak.

If we are not hurriedly living our lives, we will find that we will have enough time to actually experience life as it unfolds before us and to actually take notice of things that matter the most, like how our little ones’ faces lit up upon seeing us whenever we pick them up from school, or how our beloveds try to make housekeeping easier for us by cooking our favorite dishes whenever they have the time, and a host of other things that might otherwise be left unnoticed because we are too preoccupied with what we thought actually counts.

Life may be short, but let us make this our inspiration to live a life that counts, to live a life of value, thereby making the most of the time given to us however short it might be.

Have a lovely day mums and let’s continue to find inspiration in the mundane and ordinary!

Mum Inspires: No One Day Is Like Another

We had a wonderful weekend and our new week started out quite beautifully, but as this quote, from one of my favorite books from one of my most favorite authors, say “no one day is like another.”

Today, we start our day with the little man not feeling all too well. He is suffering from cough and colds which was probably triggered by our recent trip to Intramuros and SM Aura over the last few days. Caring for a sick child, I have to agree, is one of the most trying times in a mum’s life. It was heartbreaking enough to see your little angel suffering, and the thought that you will have an awful time trying to get him to drink his medicine, adds more stress to the situation. If only I can take Jared’s ailment away with my kisses and my hugs. 🙁

It was a not-so-good a day, so I thought seeing this image on my Facebook feed is rather serendipitous. I needed an instant pick-me-up and a new splash of inspiration. And, I just thought the star in the picture is quite lovely as I love making those when time permits. 🙂

I will be taking the little man to his pedia tomorrow to have him checked. I just wish he will be a lot better afterwards and that he will cooperate and take his prescriptions without fussing.

Oh well, not a day is like another so enjoy each day to the fullest, revel in the happy experience and learn from the sad ones. As for me, I am hoping that tomorrow will be a lot better than today, yes, and that more new stars will be created!

I hope you are having a better day than I am. Do help in praying for my little man to get well soon enough. It will be much appreciated. Thanks!
