Pinoy_Blogfest 2.0 advocates social media for social good
Did you know that Filipinos are once again acknowledged as among the most active social media users (via FaceBook, Twitter, Multiply, Tumblr, Flickr, YouTube, + the likes) + Filipino bloggers are challenged to explore the potential of social media as an influential force in Philippine society? Do you want to be part of it?
Aptly-themed “Social media as an agent for change” Pinoy_Blogfest 2.0, happens on Friday, 05 August 2011, at the TriNoma Activity Center + if you happen to be doing nothing on that day, you might as well join in for a day of positivity + social media awareness!
Leading the discussion, + shall be main speakers during the Blogger’s BIO (By Invitation Only) culminating activity programme later on at 7:00-10:00pm,  will be distinguished social media luminaries Usec. Manuel (Manolo) L. Quezon III (a blogger + as essayist, who is currently the undersecretary of the Presidential Communications and Strategic Planning Office, who also won 1st Prize for the Essay in English for the Carlos Palance Memorial Awards for Literature in 1997) and Ms. Gang Badoy ( founder of Rock Ed Philippines, an alternative education volunteer group that works for a more interesting way of presenting socio-civic issues to the youth + one of  the Ten Outstanding Women in the Nation’s Service (TOWNS) and Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) for 2010 awardee)  who will share their two cents on these two basic questions: How can we harness the power of social media for the social good?  Can bloggers become positive change agents through social networking?
Pinoy_Blogfest 2.0 is a whole-day event, with several Social Activities targeted at various audiences, with expert resource persons for each of these social activities that guarantees the public sessions which are both educational and entertaining at the same time (please consult the photo for details on the schedules).  Also, grab your chance to win raffle prizes and other giveaways by signing up with the on-site registration.
