our Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival tickets

It felt like the first weekend of September is an extension of our birthdays from the previous week. Aside from our Art In Island adventure with Jolly Cow on Saturday, we are capping the week with Mickey Mouse and his gang through Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival held at the newly-renovated KIA Theatre {formerly the New Frontier Theatre} at the Araneta Center. Disney Live!, the very first show to run at the re-opened theatre was slated only until that Sunday, and we were lucky to be among those who got to watch it. The little man was a huge Mickey Mouse fan when he was younger and I know for sure that he is going to enjoy this show as much as he enjoyed watching Disney On Ice a few years back {you can read all about our experience here.}

Our tickets was for the 2pm show and we arrived at the Araneta Center an hour earlier. The KIA Theater is just right in front of Gateway Mall so it was very easy to find. People are already lining up at the entrance by this time, with lots of little girls and boys in Disney costumes who simply cannot wait to get in and see their favorite characters come to life.

After grabbing a quick late lunch, we went back to KIA to line up. By this time, most of the people were already inside the theatre eager for the show to start. The Mickey Mouse symbol by the stage is enough to get everyone all excited. . The newly-renovated theatre has an approximately 2,400 seating capacity and we were seated at the second row of the Balcony by the aisle.

Mickey Mouse + the gang is here!

Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival started on the dot and everyone was excited to see Mickey, his partner Minnie, Goofy, and Donald. I was just wondering why Daisy was not around and the little man also noted the absence. Mickey and his gang opened the show dancing to a rockin’ upbeat tune to get the party started.

We were invited to join Smart Parenting, SM Cinema, and Snack Time’s Express Yourself Workshop held over the weekend at the Atrium Activity Center of SM Aura Premier. Mums, dads, and kiddos were treated to an afternoon of fun, learning, freebies, plus a free advanced-screening of the latest Disney Pixar film, Inside Out. Read on for my review of this latest animation flick later.

Gearing Up For A Very Long Weekend

That is right! We are gearing up for a very extended weekend as the provincial government declared Monday, 28 July to be a holiday for the entire province of Bulacan, making way for post-Iglesia ni Cristo Centennial clean-up operations. As we all know, Tuesday is also declared a holiday in observance of the end of Ramadan, or Eid Al -Fitr. Now what to do with this unexpected amount of free time in our hands?

Some of the items included in our 4-day weekend plan are: catching up on my blog backlogs, tackling an almost-2-weeks worth of laundry, finishing chores at home and tidying up some of our stuff that accumulated in the living room. I do hope I can also catch up on much-needed zzz, and manage to catch the President’s SONA on Monday.

The long vacay is also a perfect opportunity for me to review the little man in time for his very first major exam in school. This new mum of a schooler is more anxious than the little man about the exam, but I am sure with the right amount of preparation and studying I can get him ready in time for their exams in the mid of August. I also hope the little guy can finish some of our worksheets at home, as well as read a couple of the new books we got for him recently.

This 4-day weekend sure is a very welcome blessing and I do hope we can enjoy it and make use of it to the fullest.  😀
