still waiting in endless queues to get your passport?

I just can’t relive the memory of the first time I went to DFA to apply for a passport back in 2002 without reliving the long endless queues, all the hassle + the trouble brought about by bureaucracy + whatnot! Really not a pleasant experience! Imagine after enduring a whole day’s worth of falling in line + waiting for my turn, I even had to return the next day just to get what I initially came for? Very inconvenient + disappointing, I tell you!

The worse thing is that I never get to use the passport anyway (I was planning to seek employment overseas, back then, but had a change of heart since my parents, especially our father, won’t let us) after all the trouble I had to go through to get it!  It settled dormant in a box with the rest of my stuff, untouched + unstamped, until it expired in 2007.

I never had the need to renew the thing since.

Now,  imagine how surprised I was when I found out that I no longer have to suffer the same fate if I were to renew my passport. In fact, much thanks to Teleserv’s innovative services, I can easily go online or dial from my phone for passport renewal via their DFA Passport Appointment System. There are two ways to do this:

a. Applying via internet

  • simply log-on to passport.com + follow instructions to get an appointment schedule
  • prepare all needed documents or requirements (check out the list here)
  • just go to the DFA Consular Affairs Office at the scheduled date + time (check CAO’s location here)

b. Applying through phone

  • Call the DFA Passport Appointment System by dialling (02)737-1000 to get an appointment schedule
  • prepare all needed documents or requirements (check out the list here)
  • just go to the DFA Consular Affairs Office at the scheduled date + time (check CAO’s location here)

Really fast + convenient + it saves you a considerable amount of time you can use for some other endeavors.

Apart from this service, Teleserv also provide NSO Birth Certificate Delivery, Overseas Exit Clearance, + Group Application Services for NSO Certificates. Not only are they fast + convenient, but they also provide secure + confidential online payment options.

Here’s where you can keep in touch with Teleserv:

  • visit their website here + here
  • Like their page on Facebook andfollow them on Twitter
  • you can also subscribe for newsletter by sending them an e-mail with the subject “join”
  • give them a call:
  • (02) 737-1111 for NSO Inquiries
  • (02) 737-7777 for POEA Inquiries
  • (02) 737-1000 for DFA Inquiries
  • (02) 737-1173 for Group Application Service of NSO docs

As for me, I’ll take note of these contact details, you never know when they will come handy, right? I might be needing a passport soon or I might be needing to get one for my son 😉

magazine review: the barrel of blogs may 2011 issue

When I was just starting out as a mummy blogger, I came across this site about a blogging magazine looking for sponsors + I didn’t hesitate to sign up.  Turned out it was one of the best online decisions I’ve ever made. Not only that I got the chance to have my son’s blog (which was originally a mummy blog ;)), or at least my badge in one of the pages of this awesome magazine, but I also got the chance to gain more readers + followers in the process, so thanks to The Barrel for such an amazing opportunity.

Their May issue came out a few days past the month (if you put the badge in your sidebar, by the way, it will automatically refresh into the new issue as soon as it is available – just like magic!) + I quickly moused my way into it. I particularly love, as usual, the segments on arts + crafts, recipes + the lessons on Photography 101 by Marissa Vargason, it has chock full of tips, tidbits of information + heartwarming features they offer on a monthly basis.  They even feature giveaways in last month’s issue.

Am not sure whether they are still looking for more sponsors, but if I caught wind of something, I’d let you know if you are interested Who wouldn’t want their badge on the pages of a very awesome online publication, right?

So please do check out this month’s issue of The Barrel of Blogs + I assure you will never be disappointed as it will be worth your time. Happy reading 🙂

tried ayosdito for online {window}shopping?

I’ve been tapping on these online buying + selling sites for a while now. Not only because they are very suitable for an online window shopping spree, where I can browse lists upon lists of items + products with just a click of my mouse, but it is also very convenient + saves a lot of time,  especially for mums like me, who seldom have the time to go out every so often, as it gets in the way of our mothering duties.

If you are into online shopping just like me, I suggest you try out the local ones we have like AyosDito? You might be looking  for second-hand-and-sold-at-a-much-cheaper-price books (which is my case most of the time), or brand new or previously owned baby items, like clothes, shoes or gears (which was my case for a while too, as I was in a hunt for previously owned high chair + walker), you might be looking for anything under the sun, yes, including an  apartment for rent in Quezon City or a rare edition of a celebrity’s autobiography + you’d find exactly what you’re looking for in AyosDito.

Not only will they have a host of products you might be interested in, but this Buy and Sale site is  also very comprehensive that they have listings from anywhere in the archipelago. So you can be looking for a vintage car in Davao + they will direct you exactly to a local one nearest you. How neat is that? It saves you all the hassle, the trouble + the unnecessary stress related with product canvassing. They also  have a pool of certified trust-worthy sellers you can conveniently contact though e-mails or through text for your next successful + fast transaction.

You can even try to post items you’d like to sell or dispose of in this site. + you need not worry if you will be using the site for the first time, as it is very user-friendly, it won’t take rocket science to figure your way around.

One day, I hope I might be able to browse through AyosDito again for an ad much like the one depicted in the photo above. I’ve been toying with the idea of having my own house + moving out from my parent’s house, where I’ve practically lived all my life 😉 Wishful thinking really, unless I get myself a regular job (in that case I must consider getting apartments in Manila, there is probably no way I can save enough to afford a new house! But who knows, I might just win the Lottery, right?
