A Pleasant Surprise At The Little One’s School

I did get a very pleasant surprise when we went to the little man’s school earlier today to get his report card. He was not able to go to school yesterday as he was feeling a little bit off, so I was really delighted to find out that he was one of the 2 students who managed to get into the top list of their class for this grading period.

It looks like we are doing something right, and I cannot be more proud of the little one for all the efforts he’s put into learning his lessons, doing his homework promptly, and studying for his exams. Two thumbs up for the little guy who now volunteers to do his homework, it is a far cry from the reluctant preschooler who makes up a gazillion of excuses just so he can put off doing his assignments for much later! 🙂

My main concern for the little one’s schooling is for him to learn and enjoy while doing it. I would love for him to have the initiative and the passion and hunger to learn more. I sure think he is having a great time at school and the high marks and the top 2 rank is just icing on the cake. When I know that Jared is having a grand time at school, enjoying every bit of it, and actually learning, I am more than a happy mum! :-))

This is the last stretch of the little one’s academic year and we need to get ready for his final exams scheduled next month. I do hope he continues to perform well in school.

How did your preschooler fare this quarter in school?

Thankful Thursday: Old Friends + Long Weekends

mum's thoughts, gratitude, Thankful ThursdayWow, how quickly time flies! I cannot believe it is Thursday again and we are looking at another long weekend in our corner of the universe. Yep, that is right, it is a local holiday here in our city tomorrow so officially our weekend starts today! How cool and awesome is that! I am hoping we could spend time outdoors tomorrow as the weather is mighty fine these days and it is such a shame to spend Friday cooped up at home. I am sure you will agree! :sun:

This image I got from Facebook has been sitting on Eve’s memory for a long while now and today is just about the best day to share it here. Every single day, after all, is just about perfect to not ask God for anything but simply to thank Him for all that He has bestowed upon us.

Apart from the long weekend and the opportunity to stay at home and rest longer, the precious conversations with a dear friend from miles away, with the little one continuing with his Happiness Jar {with a lot of encouragement from mum, of course}, this statement pretty much sums up everything that I might have on my list.

Your turn to share your list, err your own thankful image if you may, I would most definitely love to read all about it!  😉

Here Are 10 Things To Do After The Papal Visit

mum's thoughts, mum inspires

The #papalvisitph was such a wonderful experience, whether you managed to see the Pope in person, or if you live in a far off place like us and only managed to keep abreast with the papal activities on the telly. It was an experience that left everyone feeling hopeful, blessed and raring to spread the good vibes around. Our Holy Father is a stalwart example of a living faith, a faith that can weather and brave any storm.

I chanced upon these 10 things to keep us going after the Pope left and as we go back to our daily routines. I thought this was share-worthy as a number of the Pope’s words resonated in me, including his reminder for us to live simply, to never stop dreaming and hoping, to not be afraid to cry, and a lot more. These words of wisdom also coincides with my personal goals for this year and I am sure a lot of people feel the same.

The Pope’s visit is a great expression of the Holy Father’s compassion, mercy and love for the Filipino people and we ought to consider ourselves lucky and blessed. Let us bear these reminders from him as we go about out daily lives and yes, let us not forget to say a pray for Pope Francis everyday, that he might be able to reach other people in need in different countries and that he might be able to touch more hearts and change more lives around the world.
