Skin blemish and skin imperfections can be unsightly, frustrating and quite tricky to get rid of. Not most of us are blessed with good genes along with a flawless, radiating complexion but it is good to know that we can do something about it and there are measures to be taken, as well as trusted products to use, in order for us to achieve the beautiful, clear skin we have always wanted.

I believe that the foundation to getting a clear complexion is keeping the skin clean and washing it with a gentle and mild cleanser every single day. We may have lots of skin-related issues to deal with everyday but, at least, washing the face on a regular basis can get almost a third of the job done.

Proactiv Renewing Cleanser in a nutshell

products, skin care, skin problems, Proactiv Solution, mum finds

The Proactiv Renewing Cleanser is an oil-free, soap free medicated formula that contains advanced micro crystal benzoyl peroxide in combination with mild cleanser that lightly washes the skin. It has tiny beads that gently exfoliate dead cells and impurities so they can’t clog pores. The benzoyl peroxide penetrates the pores fast while being gentle to the skin. It attacks, kill acne-causing bacteria, and reduce the number of acne pimples.

The Key Ingredients

Benzoyl Peroxide is the key anti bacterial agent to fight acne. The 2.5% concentration is just effective as 10% solutions in controlling the majority of acne cases and much gentler to your skin. This low concentration gives it the acne-fighting benefit of even higher concentrations, but not the side-effects!

Other Ingredients Include:

  • Sodium Hyaluronate ~ This mucopolysaccharides act as humectant to draw moisture to skin. Mucopolysaccharides are gel like substances surrounding the collagen and elastin in the dermis layer of the skin.
  • Polyethylene ~ These small round beads have no sharp edges that can tear and scratch the skin while they gently remove old, dead cells.
  • Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract ~ A botanical extract known for its soothing properties.

Here Are The Easy Steps In Using Proactiv Renewing Cleanser?

  • Use morning and night
  • Apply a small (dime-sized) amount to damp skin and gently massage for 1 to 2 minutes
  • Rinse thoroughly with warm water
  • Pat dry
  • If bothersome dryness or peeling occurs, reduce application to once a day or every other day
  • If going outside use a sunscreen

Why You’d Prefer to Use Proactiv Renewing Cleanser Instead of Regular Cleanser or Soap?

Mum Reads: Working Mom’s February 2015 Issue

magazines and publications for mums, mum reads, mum's thoughts, simple pleasures

It has been awhile since I last relaxed in the sofa with a magazine in hand. Parenting magazines became my favorite when, well I became a parent and they are a gold mine of helpful tips on raising children, insightful trivia and a perfect way to reward myself after a long and demanding day. For the new knowledge I gained through reading them, for the heart-warming and inspiring tales about the lives of other mums, to must-try recipes, I have always believed that these parenting magazines are worth every cent.

Today, since I am already finished with my scheduled chores for the day, and then some, and was just passing the time until I am up on my toes again to fetch the little one from school, it is the best time to put my feet up and thumb through my copy of Working Mom’s February 2015 Issue.

Judging from its cover, which features the beautiful and long-time couple, Richard and Lucy Gomez, love is written all over the pages of this particular issue.  It will also get everyone in the mood for love with its features on sexy bedroom makeovers, on gorgeous fashion and beauty looks suggestions that are sure to make your man’s heart flutter, decadent Valentine recipes from Chef Jessie Sincioco, as well as ideas and tips on having a quick romantic belated V-Day escape. It also has a good selection of new and exciting places to check out and restaurants to sample in its Destination section.

Surf sachets are used as an additive in creating cement pavers

Three industry leaders—Unilever, through its number one laundry brand Surf, Smart Communications and Cebuana Lhuillier—have renewed their commitment to champion environmental sustainability. With their shared mission to improve Filipino lives, the partners launched the third year of their Sachet Recovery Program. Through their joint efforts to create a process that is easy, convenient and rewarding, the program involves and educates more consumers about sustainability and waste recycling.

Unilever Philippines Chairman and CEO Rohit Jawa thanked their partners for their continued support in the endeavor to reduce the environmental impact of sachets. This, according to Jawa, is in line with the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan that aims to double their business while cutting their environmental footprint in half, and in the process, bringing a brighter future to one billion people worldwide.

“We owe the Sachet Recovery program’s success these past two years to the valuable contributions of Smart Communications and Cebuana Lhuillier. This year, their bigger participation will definitely produce greater results for the benefit of the environment and Filipino communities,” Jawa said.

Since 2013, the Sachet Recovery Program has been teaching proper waste segregation and recycling by encouraging millions of Filipinos to collect empty Surf sachets in exchange for free Smart texts at any Cebuana Lhuillier branch nationwide.

Thankful Thursday: Errands + Holidays

Thankful Thursday, mum's thoughts, gratitude

As we stick to our New Year goal of spending more time outdoors, I was thankful to spend some lovely time under the sun yesterday. I thought it would be a great time to run errands and spend more time outside since the little guy won’t have school today because of the Chinese New Year holiday. It was actually the little man’s idea that we proceed to the nearby park after getting a quick bite at the local fast food, where we’ve been for a number of times this week since someone is collecting their latest Happy Meal toys. I am glad he’s finally managed to complete the collection and I am also delighted I agreed to his brilliant suggestion. It was the perfect way to spend the afternoon away, a great opportunity to burn the excess fats, and snap a number of beautiful shots, too!

Ordering Food Online Is Now Easy-Breezy With FoodPanda.Ph

online food delivery services, food, online services, reviews, other reviews, mum finds

We probably spend about a third of our mum time in the kitchen, cutting veggies and chopping up ingredients for dinner or simmering a hearty dish at the stove top. Inasmuch as we would like to prepare delicious meals and dishes for the family three times a day, though, there comes a time when you are stumped with way too many chores and work deadlines to beat that you’d wish you have a magic wand much like mum Molly in the Harry Potter series that will allow for your pots and pans to cook hearty meals and delicious dishes on their own. It would’ve been the perfect household help, right? Alas, we can only wish too much for a magic wand, but if culinary-challenged mums like me is way too busy or way too lazy to cook dinner for the family, it is good to know that we can count on FoodPanda.ph to deliver our choice of dinner treats right at our doorsteps without having to break a sweat!

So, I was feeling a bit tired to tackle the chopping board and and the stove the other night and thought it was the best time to give FoodPanda.ph a try. I was craving for some pasta and pizza and opted to order Spaghetti with meatballs and a pan of cheese pizza from Yellow Cab. I had the food delivered to my brother’s workplace in Quezon City as FoodPanda.ph does not cover our city yet.

Here are the easy-peasy steps I followed to order our instant yet delectable meal:

  3. Pay ~ I had the option to pay fast and secure online or cash on delivery {I opted for COD}

Mum Finds: Cool Number Biscuits

food, products, mum finds, bento meals

I chanced upon this Number Biscuits while doing the grocery with my boys. In my quest to make my little man’s snack  box interesting so he will be enticed to eat everything I put in there, I got a pack of this thinking this would perfect for the little schooler’s number-themed food picks. Jared has yet to find the fascination for biscuits and pastries, but I put those in his lunch box, any way, hoping he’d take a bite or two of the treats I prepared for him one of these days.

I immediately put these cute number biscuits to good use and included a bunch in the little one’s baon for school today. I threw in a bunch of bear-and-car-shaped slices of luncheon meat, which is among the little guy’s “unhealthy” faves. The bear-shaped luncheon meat was inspired by Paddington, Jared’s current fave film. I do hope the little guy will find these number biscuits interesting enough to eat. I guess I got too excited that I forgot to throw in a couple of cutey picks into the box. Good thing I included the little one’s fork!

What are your current lunchbox finds? I’d love to read all about it, who knows maybe my little picky eater might like it too! :)
