happy 3rd birthday, jared!

greetings, Jared, Jared's nook, birthdays, occasions

I cannot believe that it has actually been three years since you brought a whole new meaning to my life + a good amount of sunshine, too, through your smiles + infectious laughter. It has never been one easy journey, but one that I would like to take over + over again with you love. You are my purpose for being + you are, in my honest opinion, God’s message to me that He wanted me to be happy in this life. Thank you! You might think that I have done a great amount of hard labor {yes, we might call it as such} being a 24/7 mum + all, but it was you who’ve done a great deal of work by making me feel more alive,  who made me see my life + the world around me in a whole new light, who taught me to count my blessings instead, who taught me how to truly live this wonderful life that I am gifted with.

I cannot imagine my life without you in it, son, + I cannot imagine how I’d be like without you. Thank you for being my son. Thank you for all the laughter you brought into my life, thank you for the sense of direction. Thank you for the blessing. I shall be eternally grateful to the One who gave you to me + will always value you as the best gift I have ever received in this lifetime.

On your birthday, I wish you a good amount of sunshine to make for one perfect day! I wish you will grow up to be a fine young man + achieve all your full potentials. Ultimately, I wish for you to live a full life + travel the world! If I could I’d invite Ironman, Spiderman, Captain America, along with Mickey Mouse + friends, + of course, Lightning McQueen will be your very special guest ~ I bet that will make for one perfect birthday celebration + you will have a blast! 🙂 But am sure we can invite them all in our minds, can’t we? We’ll imagine them around us today as we enjoy this beautiful day that is a celebration of YOU!

I love you, ‘nak, + I always will. Know that I am always at your side no matter what. Happy birthday!

Putting my family first

money talks, money matters, mum's thoughts
Looking after my family is something I take great pride in. I’ll do anything for them, no matter how big or small, easy or difficult it is, but there’s always a thought in the back of my mind: what would happen if, for some reason, I was unable to look after them? Would they have the money to pay for everything like food, water and electricity? Could they cope if I passed away? I don’t know for sure, but I still worry about not being able to provide for my family.

It can hit a family hard if one of them were to die for a number of reasons. The main one is getting emotional, and nothing can help repair those wounds, but the inevitable financial loss can be covered, as I found out when I visited lifeinsurance.org.uk. There, I discovered that, by taking out a life insurance policy, my family will have enough money to meet their costs should I pass away, which will at least mean there’s one less thing for them to worry about.

Having some money to pay for the cost of my funeral, as well as all the essentials like food and shelter is why it’s worth taking out life insurance. I want to put my family first, and by having this form of cover, I feel that I’m doing something good for them. By receiving life insurance payments, if I go, it will be my last big favour I will do for them, and they will be looked after financially at the very least. Hopefully I’d be able to set aside a portion of my blogging money so that I can avail of a life insurance really soon.

small + medium enterprises + esquire financing

money talks, money matters, mum's thoughts
ESQUIRE Financing Inc.’s CEO Rajan Uttamchandani at the Philippine Small and Medium Enterprise Expo 2012

Business + talks on numbers are more or less like gibberish to me, but it does pay to learn something new about subjects that are otherwise foreign to  us + acquaint ourselves with what’s latest every so often, right? I am sharing with you, therefore, this interesting press release that I’ve stumbled upon recently. Read on…

According to the International Franchise Association (IFA), franchising currently represents 18 million jobs and $2.1 trillion worth of economic activity in the U.S.

In Southeast Asia, the Philippines leads in terms of franchise concept development. Last year, more than 124,000 franchisees offered the products and services of over 1,100 franchisors in the country. The industry generated more than a million jobs while recording a total of $9.45 billion output—equal to five percent of the country’s total gross domestic product (GDP).

PFA Chairman Lim said that the recent growth can be attributed to the entry of new players from micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the continued rise of the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry, and the introduction of indigenous and food concepts.

ESQUIRE Financing Inc. also recognizes the potential in funding the development of emerging enterprises, especially now when there is positive economic growth in the country. “MSMEs are the pillars of growth of the Philippine economy. They will catapult economic production into greater numbers through job development,” ESQUIRE President/CEO Rajan Uttamchandani stated.
