Mum Inspires: No One Day Is Like Another

We had a wonderful weekend and our new week started out quite beautifully, but as this quote, from one of my favorite books from one of my most favorite authors, say “no one day is like another.”

Today, we start our day with the little man not feeling all too well. He is suffering from cough and colds which was probably triggered by our recent trip to Intramuros and SM Aura over the last few days. Caring for a sick child, I have to agree, is one of the most trying times in a mum’s life. It was heartbreaking enough to see your little angel suffering, and the thought that you will have an awful time trying to get him to drink his medicine, adds more stress to the situation. If only I can take Jared’s ailment away with my kisses and my hugs. 🙁

It was a not-so-good a day, so I thought seeing this image on my Facebook feed is rather serendipitous. I needed an instant pick-me-up and a new splash of inspiration. And, I just thought the star in the picture is quite lovely as I love making those when time permits. 🙂

I will be taking the little man to his pedia tomorrow to have him checked. I just wish he will be a lot better afterwards and that he will cooperate and take his prescriptions without fussing.

Oh well, not a day is like another so enjoy each day to the fullest, revel in the happy experience and learn from the sad ones. As for me, I am hoping that tomorrow will be a lot better than today, yes, and that more new stars will be created!

I hope you are having a better day than I am. Do help in praying for my little man to get well soon enough. It will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Mum Inspires: Do Not Lose Hope

mum inspires, quotable quotes, mum's thoughts

It seemed rather easier to lose hope in the light of recent events that took place in our country. One catastrophe after another. After all the buzz about Janet Lim Napoles and the 10B PDAF scam died down, it was immediately followed by the war in Mindanao and a couple of storms leaving parts of our country devastated and a number of our countrymen displaced from their homes.

We have not fully recovered from the aftermath and here comes another tragic incident ~ a 7.2-magnitude earthquake that wreaked havoc in Bohol, Cebu and neighboring cities in the Visayas region. Several centuries-old churches were now left in shambles, with the rich and colorful history that went with them now transformed into dust. The earthquake also claimed the lives of about a hundred of our brothers and sisters, not to mention thousands of people now left homeless and fearing for their lives whenever they experienced one of the more than 200 aftershocks.

It truly is so depressing and my heart goes out to everyone who is now suffering. I fervently pray that you all be safe and find inspiration in the mundanity of our day-to-day living to move forward and continue on in life. I also believe in the Filipinos’ resilient spirit and how we’d be able to spring back after each tragedy armed with hope and our unwavering trust in the Almighty.

Let us not lose hope. Today is another day and another chance to put all the troubles and worries of yesterday behind us. There is a reason for everything and we just have to trust in Him, who holds the master plan for everything.

Mum Inspires: My To-Do List For Today

quotable quotes, mum's thoughts, mum inspires

I do not remember when I first saw this shared on Facebook, but I just thought it was a perfect to-do list in any given day and is just most ideal to share with you all!

Starting our day by counting our blessing and giving thanks to all the favors and grace we received is the best way to go about it, not to mention the most sure-fire way to receive more blessings!

Practicing kindness sounds more like an advice my late Mama will give me and my siblings that is why I make it a point to practice it whenever the opportunity arises and to pass it on to my little one to always be nice to his playmates and to everyone he meets along the way.

Letting go of something we cannot control is really easier said than done, but if you think about it, if we let go of something we have no control over, we are actual relinquishing it to the universe as if telling God to be in charge.

Listening to your heart ought to be on your daily to-do lists, as it never lies and would always lead you to the right path.

Being productive and calm at the same time might just be to much to ask, especially when you work around a very rowdy child 24/7, but it sure works to remind ourselves to be calm as much as we can.

May the day present you with more opportunities to be inspired, to know yourself and to live life to the fullest. There might be hills to climb, deadlines to beat, or in my case, a toddler to outsmart, but as our to-do list suggests, in the midst of all of it, do not forget to just breathe….
