first pinoy junior masterchef at pifbex

events, food

I am a big fan of Pinoy Junior Masterchef + were among those who stay tuned to the grand finale. Although my bet, Jobim, did not emerge as the grand champion, I commend all those kiddie cooks for their kitchen prowess, I don’t think I can cook half of what they’ve prepared on the show even if my life depends on it! 😉

Anyway, Kyle Imao, the First Junior Pinoy Master graced the PIFBEX event + cut the ribbon as Tradecon launched its 5th Annual Food + Beverage Expo + HORECA  (Hotel, Restaurant and Caterers Expo), amidst major food + beverage industry players, on 01 March. This event runs until 04 March + over 300 exhibitors will be present, including local suppliers, distributors and manufacturers. International exhibitors from Korea, Indodesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, the United States will also participate + showcase their products.

a glass of milk a day…

women health, food, brown, milk

I have always loved milk + will make it a point to have a glass or two, if not daily, at least a few times in a week, so a carton or two is always present in my shopping cart whenever I do my groceries. My sister has a n entirely different story, since she was a child, she has never been too fond of drinking milk, but since she’s found out a few months back that she might be prone to scoliosis, she has been trying hard to drink milk at least once a day.

The chocolate-flavored ones is the only form of milk she said she can take, so the last time she was at the grocers she bought a few packs of this chocolate milk brand and gave me some. With a few cubes of ice, my chocolate milk is perfect on a hot, Saturday morning.

Apart from keeping us hydrated + working wonders for our bones + teeth, did you know that the Calcium, Magnesium and Potassium in our milk is also good to reduce the risk of certain diseases including obesity, breast cancer + Type 2 Diabetes? It also reduces high blood pressure. + if I were you, I’d start the daily milk habit, now! 😉

my surprise valentine’s treat

valentine's, simple pleasures, food, browns

Look what I got in the mail in time for Valentine’s? A surprise treat from Russian Cookie House. I won in their Russian Cookie House Valentine’s Giveaway + true enough they sent me my prize on Valentine’s Day! I fell in love with the elaborate packaging comprised of a heart-shaped red box complete with a “Just for you” note, a red rose + a very beautiful brown ribbon.

Who wouldn’t fall head over heels for this beautiful packaging. The box is made of sturdy carton + I will be re-purposing it to hold some of my knick-knacks once the goodies are gone, which won’t be too long now 😀

Valentine's, food, simple pleasures, browns

I love the simple yet delicious taste of the white cookies {whatever you call them?} + I especially enjoyed the yummy + crunchy taste of the chocolate ones! This is something I’d enjoy long before Valentine’s is over.

Big thank you goes out to Ms. Gina of Russian Cookie House for sending the goodies promptly!

Am sharing these delectable browns to Thursday Brownies, by the way! 🙂
