The Blogapalooza 2013, held on 16 November at the SMX Convention Center in SM Aura, sure is one great blogging event and I am fortunate to be part of it, it was one of those lucky days when I get to have a day’s off from childminding to attend and event and I couldn’t be happier!

Apart from having the opportunity to meet with a number of brands, which I shall enumerate in a few, that I look forward to collaborating in the future in one of my blogs, bloggers in attendance were also treated to an enlightening talk from invited speaker Jason Cruz, MRM Worldwide’s Director for Community Management, who talked about branding which can also come handy for bloggers. Other entertaining speaker also include celebrities and DJ’s Karen Bordador and the guys from the Boys Night Out radio program.

True to its promise of being the biggest Business-To-Blogger event to hit town, Hall 1 of SMX Convention Center in SM Aura was teeming with a lot of businesses who aimed to get their products and services out into the great big world through bloggers. Among the companies in attendance are ideal travel destinations Mind Museum and View Park Hotel {Tagaytay}, Enjoy Philippines, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, the innovative GrabTaxiRichPrime Toys, LazerXtreme, BYS Cosmetics,  telecommunications giants SmartBro and PLDT Home, and a number of food-related businesses including my instant favorite Gavino’s Donuts, Plato WrapsNice Day Coffee, Brown Bag Coffee, Gurkka.com, and Wheatgrass C.A.N. International Inc., San Miguel Foods, among others.

One of the things that I was looking forward to in this event was the chance to be with my mummy bloggers friends again and true enough I was able to catch up with a number of them including Eihdra, Divine, Willa, Olga and Jem and we had such a wonderful time hopping from one booth to another, sampling foodie treats and having our photos taken!

I am also proud of this year’s Blogapalooza as I was able to help raise Php82,000 for the survivors of Super Typhoon Yolanda through the Piggy Bank Movement which was later on donated to the representative of World Vision. I wish I could stay much longer to have witnessed this segment and the other parts of the event that I missed, but mum’s day off was over too soon and I had to rush back home to the little man!

Watch out for my separate posts featuring different companies and services I was lucky to discover at the Blogapalooza event, and if you want to be part of this huge blogging community, do not forget to register at https://blogapalooza.wheninmanila.com/

Kudos to Vince Golangco of When In Manila and his associates for coming up with one awesome event for both bloggers and businesses to enjoy. I hope to see you all again next year!

Mum Inspires: There’s Always A Rainbow After The Rain

mum's thoughts, mum inspires, quotable quotes

In the midst of what happened ~ the aftermath of Super Typhoon Yolanda, the heart-breaking images of our suffering kababayans in the Visayas region, the unnecessarily delay in sending government help, the outpouring of help and support from people all over the world, the images of modern-day heroes trying to do their part, it sure is very easy to agree that there is a silver lining after every tragedy, a message that a rainbow after the rain greatly implies. Apart from being a beautiful sight in the sky to behold, a rainbow is also a lovely reminder of God’s wonderful promise all those many years ago and it now serves as a beacon of hope for everyone! And the images of the people slowly trying to pick where they left off before Yolanda struck is such a good news, especially to those who have painstakingly followed their situation through the daily newscast and social media updates.

We are fortunate to have this long overdue out-of-town trip earlier and look at what we saw on our way back. This is actually a twin rainbow, but the other one cannot be seen from this angle. I was so excited to show this to the little man who obliged me by taking a peek at his side of the window. It sure is an inspiring scene to behold that I cannot wait to take a snap. Oh and did I mention that old tune from South Border was playing in the air when we saw this? Coincidence? 🙂

Let us bear in mind that there will be many rains and storms to trudge in this life, but just a rainbow is sure to appear after each rain, believe that you will be given the strength to overcome each and every obstacle, just keep the faith.

I hope you had an equally inspiring Thursday!
