of learning new skills

mum's thoughts, learning

I wrote early this year that one of my major goals for 2012 is to learn a new skill. It may be in the form of studying how to drive, or learning how to speak a third language, or finally learning how to cook, or drive or swim, or studying all about Quickbooks San Antonio, maybe! Alas, fast forward to 7 months later, I have not established a concrete goal of how to realize any of those goals I have set out to accomplish at the start of the year. I guess you can say that I have been busy. Which, for a full-time mum of a toddler can really be quite an understatement. Looking after a boisterous almost-three-year-old can really be quite a handful, add the tons of house chores + a flourishing online racket into the mix, + I hardly have enough time for anything else.  I’ve only gone as far as planning to wash my yoga mat to prepare it for action + getting hold of a great French-learning book {which I managed to browse on several occasions!}. The cliché too many things to do, too little time is a mantra that keeps running in circles inside my head!

I know I have been lagging on my goals with only a few more months left in the year, + I really keep on wondering how other mums or those Adams QB Austin Quickbooks Experts manage their time perfectly. That I have to master first, I guess, before I venture into achieving other goals that I set out for myself. Oh well, either that or I find a very capable house help to do away all my biddings so I focus on any of my tasks. At any rate, I am just glad I have found an able aid, in the form of my new fully-automatic washing  machine, to help me save time + energy so that I can focus more on my other priorities! 😉

Anyway what new skills you would like to learn? I’d love to read all about it in a comment below! 😉

let’s celebrate august {a giveaway!}

In spite of the recent catastrophe that struck the nation, I believe there are still numerous reasons to celebrate this month of August, including the people’s solidarity in times of disasters + the Filipino’s never-say-die spirit, as well as our never-ending desire + capacity to help out those who are in need, evident in the selfless rescuers’ aim to rescue as many people as they can + the volunteers’ goal to reach out to as many victims of the calamity as they possibly can.

Psychic Reading, anyone?

mum's thoughts, lifestyle

I do not know about you but I’ve always wanted to try psychic readings. It will be one great experience to find out what is actually waiting for you in the years to come, don’t you think? I guess it is because of this fascination for the unknown + what actually the future holds that draw people to this age-old form of fortune-telling. One who is interested can avail of these services either through phone, home visits or psychic fairs, in forms of cards, numbers, palm or aura reading, at a price.

It is really interesting to try it at least once in your life, right, + marvel at what the psychics will tell you all about your future! Will you be married with three kids, or will you travel the world or will you bag that Olympic medal you have been obsessing about for ages? The possibilities are endless + so is the excitement that these will give you!

Of course you have to be careful to look for the most reputable ones + try not to take it seriously or let it dampen your mood. Also, do not allow those predictions from letting you live your life exactly the way you want to. Remember that life is what we make of it + that your destiny, still, lies in your own hands.
