Thankful Thursday: Happy Thanksgiving!

It is Thanksgiving week and I send shout outs to our friends living in the US and in Canada, may you have more reasons to be thankful for today. Even when we do not celebrate this lovely holiday locally, there is no reason to stop being thankful and offering simple but meaningful thanksgiving to everything and everyone who makes our life easier, wonderful, and more meaningful.

my lovely new notebook from Kidzania. the screw driver pen is equally cute and it reminds me so much of “The Mechanic” 😉

And since it is Thanksgiving, I thought it would be fitting to list down a bunch of my thankfuls, especially that I missed out on my #ThankfulThursday post last week as I was busy attending a nice event, which I shall tell you all about in another post. Meanwhile, here are my thankfuls for this week {and last week, too!}:

Thankful Thursday: Time + Meditation

mum's thoughts, mum inspires, Thankful Thursday, gratitudeFor this week’s #ThankfulThursday, I am thankful for the precious time given to me so that I can slow down, relish a bit more of life, and fully experience and appreciate what is here and now. Life can really be quite overwhelming and everything may seem topsy-turvy at times, but it does pay to take a deep breath and take a break to re-focus on what’s most essential.

I am thankful for Oprah and Deepak for their free 21-Day Meditation, which is all about the Energy of Attraction. Although I still struggle each day to set aside about 20 minutes of my time to sit in complete silence to do my meditation, I look forward to each session as they are most enriching, not to mention very relaxing, too. It is a perfect way to shake off the cobwebs in the mind and focus on the important and the positive thoughts and ideas.

I am also thankful for the time I spent on the mat today. I have missed a couple of sessions the past weeks and I cannot wait to give my yoga practice yet another go. Although, there are aches and pains here and there due to lack of practice, yoga will always be one of my most wonderful experience and I look forward to doing it again next week. I also had a lovely time chatting and catching up with Tita who was doing yoga lessons since my teacher, Valerie, moved back to Cebu to oversee their yoga center there.

Lastly, as I have always been, I am grateful for each precious time I spend with the little man. I might be a tad busy catching up on a swell of backlogs, but I am glad that he patiently waits for me to finish work so that we can do our early evening run, which he absolutely enjoys.

What are you thankful for today?

Thankful Thursday: Poinsettias + Surprises

mum's thoughts, simple pleasures, gratitude, Thankful Thursday, mum inspires

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at home! I have been meaning to get some of these lovely poinsettias ever since I saw them in mummy Peachy’s blog. They are just the loveliest and they sure are oozing with the Christmas color and vibe. I was told they were available in a garden somewhere in Manila around this time but I haven’t found the time to go and check it out.

I was suppose to go somewhere early this morning after dropping the little man to school but unfortunately the appointment was cancelled and fate led me somewhere else {read: the gardens in Tabang where I got a pot of this lovely flower I am not sure what the name is and a pot of Citronella, to ward off the mosquitoes}. I saw these lovely rows of poinsettias on my way to Tabang and made a mental note to drop by and inquire before I head home to drop off my newly acquired plants and go back to the little one’s school to fetch him.
