As of 6am today, 19 August 2013, the Malacañang Palaca released a statement on suspension of work in government offices in Metro Manila, as well as of classes in all levels in the provinces of Pangasinan, Benguet, Bataan, Zambales, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro and Metro Manila. This is due to the effects of Typhoon Maring and the enhanced southwest monsoon.
Classes from pre-school to high school are suspended in these areas:
- Mandaluyong City
- Navotas City
- Pasay City
- Taguig City
- Valenzuela
- Angeles, Pampanga
- Antipolo, Rizal
- Bocaue, Bulacan
- Bacoor City
- Dagupan, Pangasinan
- Hagonoy, Bulacan
- Malolos, Bulacan
- Meycauayan, Bulacan — Barangays of Bayugo, Gazak, Longos, Calvarion, Zamora, Saluysoy and Pandayan only
- San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan
- Morong, Rizal
- Olongapo City
- Olongapo, Zambales
- San Jose del Monte, Bulacan
- Bocaue
Classes in all levels are suspended in the following areas:
- Caloocan
- Cainta
- Makati
- Malabon
- Manila
- Marikina City
- Muntinlupa City
- Parañaque City
- Pasig
- Pateros
- San Juan City
- Cainta, Rizal
- Montalban, Rizal
- Cavite
- Dinalupihan, Bataan
- Jalajala, Rizal
- Marilao, Bulacan
- Laguna
- Obando, Bulacan
- Rodriguez, Rizal
- San Mateo, Rizal
- Subic, Zambales
- Taytay, Rizal
- Bataan
