For The Love Of Shoes

Blog Photo Challenge, #fmsphotoaday, simple pleasures, women fashion, shoes, gifts

Unlike most women am not really too fond of buying shoes. Oh well, I only do if I really like the design, when I need it the most and I have a budget for it! And since I do not have the need to wear shoes on a regular basis {if you happen to know me, you will have noticed that I normally go out clad in my ever-reliable and most comfy flip flops! :-)) }, I seldom buy. The last time I purchased a pair, a rubber shoes, was earlier this year when I planned to join a local fun run.

One of the reasons why I do not find the need to buy shoes that often is Jared’s dad’s fondness in giving me one. Over the years he has given me quite an assortment of different footwear which I absolutely adore, among them my dainty floral Gola doll shoes, a Vans slip-on, a pair of Havs which I wore all throughout my pregnancy, a pair of Ipanema flip flops which I loved so much I wore it almost every day and to any just about anywhere, and my cool Sanuk slip-ons.

For our anniversary last year, Jared’s dad gave me another Sanuk pair and I simply like it. It was very comfortable and fits my feet perfectly. I love that its washable and that it is a very eco-friendly product, as well. This is now my new go-to shoes whenever I go out and need to wear something more decent than my flip flops!

Happiness Is Being With My Little Man 24/7

motherhood, Blog Photo Challenge, #fmsphotoaday, mum's thoughts
the rambunctious little one who stole my heart

When Jared was still in my tummy I decided I’d keep my regular job so that I can provide for all his material needs. I have tried it for a few months, in fact, but it really was quite a struggle and the times that I was away from my then little bundle of joy are the most heartbreaking. I really cannot stand to be away from him and just hear about his firsts from my sister who was on babysitting duties at the time. So after a few months of trying and after discussing my plans with his dad, I finally said goodbye from my almost-five-year work. It was the best decision I  have ever made!

I get to spend all my waking and sleeping hours with my son and witnessed all his milestones and developments, as well as his antics and his quirks, firsthand. It was a decision I will never regret making and even when it can be stressful, trying, challenging and frustrating half the time, I will never regret deciding to quit earning a greener pasture in favor of being at my son’s beck and call 24/7. It may not have been a walk in the park but I cannot wait for the rest of our adventures to unfold.  After all, our children are only little once and the precious unguarded and spontaneous moments that we missed while we are busy working will never happen again. :-))

This is my share for Blog Photo Challenge and Fat Mum Slim’s #photoadaychallenge. I have been meaning to complete these challenges for a few months now to no avail. Hopefully this July will be my lucky month!  🙂

Oh July

mum's thoughts, greetings

I wonder where the past 6 months went! We’re off to the second half of this year and is beginning another month today. July is one of my least favorite month {read: no occasions}, but we are looking forward to it this year because of the Despicable Me 2 movie, plus it is proving to be one productive month for me. This early, I have been getting numerous opportunities for my blogs and I am loving it. They keep me busy and I like busy if it means I will get to earn a bit more and get to save enough for the little man’s birthday next month! Oh and I also enjoy getting cool free stuffs!

I bet we will find ourselves spinning like tops on most days getting ready for the little man’s playschool. I am rather thankful that we only have to attend 3 times a day ’cause I am not really so sure how we’d manage the feat on a daily basis. Even when I am looking forward to Jared attending big school, I am wary of how we’d fare falling into a daily routine and following a tight schedule. Oh well, I guess we will just cross the bridge when we get there.

This month might just be turning out to be one of my faves. If it promises clear, sunny weather, too then I am sold. I am praying for enough amount of sunshine since the little man will be spending a lot of hours outdoors and I cannot wait for us to visit the Avilon Zoo {I bought a voucher last year and it is expiring this month}.

Here’s hoping everyone a fruitful and blessed July.  Oh and by the way, do not forget to join our Coach Handbag Giveaway while you are here.  😀
