Weekends Made More Fun With Gardenia’s New Pocket Sandwich

I have always wanted to make my little man’s weekend more memorable. The best way to do this is to visit my parents’ home so he can spend time with his cousins. It is always awesome to spend time with my niece and nephew since my son is an only child.  Also, I miss them so much since we do not get to spend more time with them. They are both growing up too quickly and it breaks my heart to not be a daily part of their lives. My nephew, Sean, is also turning another year older this month {my niece, Shane, just turned 10 last month} and I am amazed at how he’s grown from the tiny little bundle of joy who was too fond of biting his tita that I’d end up going to work with bruises on my arms.

I love the mouth-watering goodness of the spicy and creamy laksa! yum!

To give the public a delicious preview of the McCormick Noodle and Seasoning Mixes, an event dubbed the Flavor Nation Festival was held at the Bonifacio High Street Central Amphitheater this Saturday. Open to the public for free, 5 delectable noodle bars were set up so the crowd can enjoy the 5 new recipe mixes ~ Birthday Noodles, Pad Thai, Laksa, Chap Chae, and Palabok {yes, it is a delight to know they included a local favorite!}. I really love the flavors of Palabok, but it was the Chap Chae variant that I was most curious about, and unsurprisingly, it became my favorite among the 5!

our Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival tickets

It felt like the first weekend of September is an extension of our birthdays from the previous week. Aside from our Art In Island adventure with Jolly Cow on Saturday, we are capping the week with Mickey Mouse and his gang through Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival held at the newly-renovated KIA Theatre {formerly the New Frontier Theatre} at the Araneta Center. Disney Live!, the very first show to run at the re-opened theatre was slated only until that Sunday, and we were lucky to be among those who got to watch it. The little man was a huge Mickey Mouse fan when he was younger and I know for sure that he is going to enjoy this show as much as he enjoyed watching Disney On Ice a few years back {you can read all about our experience here.}

Our tickets was for the 2pm show and we arrived at the Araneta Center an hour earlier. The KIA Theater is just right in front of Gateway Mall so it was very easy to find. People are already lining up at the entrance by this time, with lots of little girls and boys in Disney costumes who simply cannot wait to get in and see their favorite characters come to life.

After grabbing a quick late lunch, we went back to KIA to line up. By this time, most of the people were already inside the theatre eager for the show to start. The Mickey Mouse symbol by the stage is enough to get everyone all excited. . The newly-renovated theatre has an approximately 2,400 seating capacity and we were seated at the second row of the Balcony by the aisle.

Mickey Mouse + the gang is here!

Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival started on the dot and everyone was excited to see Mickey, his partner Minnie, Goofy, and Donald. I was just wondering why Daisy was not around and the little man also noted the absence. Mickey and his gang opened the show dancing to a rockin’ upbeat tune to get the party started.
